Their is a lot of talk about ratings here. Rating are subjective of course! But...not to pick-it off modern but..to look at historical it becomes very obvious that their are problems. I'll give two examples: (1) BoxRec Heavyweight's all. Look at the high spot they have Floyd Patterson in?
Welterweights how on Earth can anyone rank Billy Backus 40 + slots over Marlon Starling at 147lbs. Someone is tangled and guessing all wrong there. Starling never even stopped one time. He stepped up to 160 to challenge Michael Nunn at a point in time when Nunn was considered huge property. The result there was MD-L-15. How does Billy Backus compare with Marlon Starling?
Another thing: How is it the points for retired boxers go up and go down?
So..if they have "funny" in those parts I can well imagine it's problem thru-out w/them.
Support BoxRec their vast! But..

Briggs' corner and the ref should have been banned from boxing for not stopping that fight. I don't know how much brain damage Briggs suffered and how much is attributable to roid rage, but his whole personality has changed since then...and where is Doctor Margaret Goodman and her mobbed up neVADA Las Vegas drug testing outfit when it comes to testing Briggs, because he appears to be high as a kite in all his manic letsgochamp photo ops?

Briggs won't fight guys like that because he knows damn well they'd beat him. He only wants to fight guys that are gonna fall over in the 1st or 2nd round and talk a bunch of sh*t until David Haye or one of the Titleholders fights him. He has no interest in earning a title shot. He just wants it to be handed to him because of his mouth. Shannon Briggs isn't Top 40. He was at one time...but it's been a long while since he's been relevant. Even when he got his shot at Vitali he was seen as a soft opponent for Vitali...rightfully so.

LOL at what? You think people were clamoring to see Briggs fight Vitali? Vitali lost in one sided fashion to Sultan Ibragimov about 2 or 3 years earlier. Everyone knew he had no chance whatsoever against Vitali. Just like everyone in the know knows he has no chance against any meaningful fighter now.

Like Haye is a meaningful fighter? Briggs is ranked pretty high on several rankings in fact. Before the meaningless Gjergjaj fight even higher as Daffy. Somehow Daffy generates more money and received a high rank because of that, he generates more money, since he's Brittish and, unlike Briggs, obviously after money.

I don't rate Haye in my Top 10 personally because he hasn't beaten a meaningful opponent in many years, and I'm not sure he still is what he once was, but I have no doubt he'd smash Briggs. Briggs is shot.

I don't think Haye should be in the conversation to be getting shots at people like AJ and Tyson Fury either, but for whatever reason he's a big draw in the U.K. in spite of always doing more talking about how good he is, than proving how good he is.

He's like the Deontay Wilder of the UK. Talks talks and getting away with everything. Or well, for the time being.

It's a massively bizarre one! He is a massive draw, yet with an unbelievably weak CV. It's quite perceivable that he'll get a shot at AJ without having to fight ANYONE!

I still rate his ability and technique and he definitely possesses the best movement in the division, and one of the best power punches. Unfortunately his size is a massive draw back as bigger fighters can just jab him to death. Unfortunately all current champions are giants compared to him. I think his best bet is to target the WBA world heavy or the WBA interim.

Big Baby Fat Miller needs to get in shape before calling anyone out. Wilder put him in the hospital with a concussion a couple of years back, and Miller was crying about not being in shape being the reason. Ok, talk with your fists then. I would love to see him vs Wilder, Joshua, Ortiz, Fury, Parker, or Haye. Maybe Haye is the most realistic, because he doesn't deserve a fight against the others just yet.

Yeah probably. I hate David Haye, but I don't particularly like Tyson Fury either so it'd be alright for me to see him get shut down by Haye. I'd rather just see Anthony Joshua beat the sh*t out of the both of 'em though.

I like fury. Entertaining character who dethroned the fraud before he came near Joe's record. He's just not very good.

I'd like Fury if he'd back up his talk more. After all his "There's ONLY ONE TYSON FURY!" and getting in the face of Deontay Wilder, it's now gonna take him more than a year apparently to fight the guy he already beat for the title, and he's already talked of retirement and all this sh*t too. Just another drama queen.

If you can stand to listen to it, the heated discussion from a couple days ago they discussed it. I can't stand listening to either loud mouth.

Yep that was a blooper. I didn't even catch it for a second when you pointed it out to me. Yes of course I meant Shannon lost in one sided fashion to Sultan Ibragimov.

Unfortunately I listened to it and all i heard was one screaming that he hurts people and the other one screaming that he'll put a diaper on his head and spank him, something like that. I forgot, what was I supposed to get out of that intellectual debate?

Somewhere I read the text of the conversation, if you can call it that, where Miller said he gave Wilder trouble sparring in Alabama even though he was out of shape, and Wilder said he put Miller in the Hospital with a concussion from the sparring. Miller is just like any other heavy or boxer for that matter, trying to talk his way into a big fight. Can't blame him for that. Both are irritating as hell when they speak, imo.

I think Wilder would probably beat up Miller.

Big baby has power, but apart from that he's very limited and out of shape. I'd like to see Miller against Breazeale, who I think is more at his level; let's see how Miller deals with a slow and clumsy, but big, strong, and gritty guy who has shown that he's not going to fold when hurt.
