That after Vladimir Klitschko defeated Lawrence Clay- Bey in the opening rounds,that
NBC refused to televise the quarter-finals,the semi-finals and the finals of the Superheavyweight Boxing division for those Olymoics.
So Americans only saw one of his four bouts on TV ?

It was the amateurs; many very good pros were hurt by or suffered losses to unspectacular opponents (e.g. Holmes getting dropped and defeated Bobick)

Duane Bobick hit a lot harder than Lawrence Clay-Bey.

Bobick was throughly mediocre and he still beat Holmes. Shitt like that happens in the amateurs..Mayweather also lost to Augie Sanchez, Ali lost to Percy Price, Lennox Lewis was knocked out by Valeriy Abadzhyan, Tyson was stopped by some nobody, and so on.

Is it news to you that Wlad doesn't take a good shot? You're not hard to amaze it seems

Of course it's not news to me that he can't take a good shot. Bobick was a better fighter than Clay-Bey. you also have to look at how experienced they were at the time. I guess like some others, I am sick of people going on and on about how good the Klitschkos are.

Actually since he is a current fighter, he should not even be in the Boxing History Forum. How about the Mods move this the Current Scene where people can gush all over him?

Lennox was 21 and had already been to the Olympics when he was knocked out. Wlad was younger and had only been boxing for roughly 5 years when he won Olympic gold.

Someone like Mayweather was born into the sport, yet still ended up losing to Augie Sanchez.

The Clay-Bey match was the closest (score-wise) of Wladimir's matches. I'm sure of that and..somewhere with my archives I have that scores page.

^ ^ Bobick spiced things up in his time I think. He beat Teofilio and was 1-1 there. Was he 1-0 or 2-0 vs Larry? Bobick was quite good. Was it a bad idea to put him in against Norton when he did? Well, Duane's career certainly did take a hit, and a dive. But...I wouldn't call him a average commodity at all! Very extensive amateur career. I thought I read before that the massacre at Duane's Olympic Games effected him. Lawrence too..remember..someone was killed at those Games! The story is that that effected Lawrence. He was one of the favorites to take Gold and he was the reigning world amateur champ,then!

Dokiwari a Nigerian. Any current news poop available about him?? 25-3-0 career. 22 KO's and stopped but once.
Bio says his residence is Las Vegas. But how updated?
Last match: 12-1-06 vs a 10-4-1 *no name -Willie Palms- W-TKO-4 (10) 1:39.
His career highlight going by the record perhaps is the L-UD-10 v. Dominick Guinn when Guinn 22-0-0 on Sept. 27, 2003 wide scores, HSBC Arena Buffalo, Ny. Dokiwari 29 then; Guinn 28. Guinn went onto a thus-far 35(24)-11(0)-1 record. He is age 41 now and just L-10 v. Hughie Fury, 18-0-0 enter. That this past March.
Dokiwari was inactive one whole year past Guinn and return was a disaster when he lost TKO-1 (8) 2:55 vs someone 12-3. His lone "stop" loss. (Bout is closed bio).
W- KO Mike Sedillo in June 2002. Andy Sample (30-5-2) W-TKO1 Nov. 2002.
Someone name Armando Rodriguez WTKO2 no name yet respectable statistics at 27-9-1.
Fres Oquendo set him back in January, 1999.
He could possibly take on the returning Ike Ibeabuchi at this stage for something green (money).
