I felt Williams did enough in the last round to secure victory. It was a very, very close fight; you could see how dissapointed Skelton was at the end - he felt he did enough to win.

Both fighters gave it 100%. FW says it may not be until autum time until Danny gets a title shot, if this is the case, there should be a rematch with Skelton B4 then.

IMO, if Williams is out-of-the-ring for too long, he will come in bad shape when he does eventually get a title fight. Would you agree with me on this?

Yesterday's coverage on ITV restored something after the dreadful Williams-Harrison contest in December. However, the constant adverts in between rounds is very annoying! Instead of adverts, there should be coverage of each corner, in between every round!

Danny showed class in the end; when asked about Skeltons tactics during the fight, he did not complain, just said that was the way Matt fights, it's his style etc. Other fighters may have complained more about Skeltons tactics.

Who cares who won! Williams was intimidated by Skelton...A so called heavy weight contender shouldnt be lookin scared of his opponent cuz hes gettin roughed up abit.

British Heavyweight boxing is crap at the moment (come back lennox) For that matter World heavyweight boxing is crap.

Why is every one going on about Danny williams? He fluked that win over Tyson and showed us just how good he really was wen he faced Vitali...CRAP.

The only thing I will give Williams credited for is his chin! Dam, he can take alot of punishment!

Last nights fight was horrible to watch. Both men were FAT, slow and unskillful. I can go down the town on a Saturday night and watch 2blokes brawl...its not exactly boxing!

Neither of these guys deserve a world title fight although it would be funny to watch williams get battered around the ring again

Last night looked like a draw, neither man showed us anything special!

Did u see wen williams split Skeltons head open...what a mess. why couldnt he have boxed like that through out all 12 rounds.

None taken sir, but i'd hate to think my opinion was any less worthy than yours. Being an editor does not mean one is automatically correct any more than agreeing with judges means the verdict went the-right-way according-to-the-masses.

When Morales beat Barrera I had it 115-113 even with Morales losing a point for taking the knee, and I stand by my scorecard. I also had no problems with Trinidad beating ODLH and felt he shaded it by a couple of rounds..... on that night I again agreed with judges, but was sitting in a room with former Boxing Monthly editors and Boxing News men (and TV commentators) Steve Holdsworth and George Zeleny - both of whom thought De La Hoya took it.

Last night I preferred Skelton's fight. He took control of the ring, was busier, was less afraid to get involved, and didn't stop the action in the same way Williams did by turning his back or holding Skeltons arm. I thought he "milked" the situation with the ropes, and at the end he had the look of a man who knew deep down in his heart that he had lost the fight (just like Ricthie Woodhall versus Glen Catley, or Jorrin vs Brodie for example). To me, Williams didn't "fancy the job" very much, and it showed in his face at the end.

However much we may have thought Skelton deserved a point taken off, the fact is that until the referee takes one off officially, then we cannot do it...... because if the ref didn't see the foul taking place, then the foul did not occur!

No offence intended sir, but I shall continue to score fights if it's okay with you.......

That last round might have been scored 10-8 for DW - he had Matt out on his feet for the last minute...

Williams can never maintain that sort of pace for 12 rounds, he's carrying too much weight, and likes to stand and pose too much waiting for openings that he is too slow to exploit. Williams boxes at times as if he has the speed and relfexes of RJJ, when in fact he's slow as shite through a funnell.

I wonder whether that split on the head wasn't caused by a clash of heads, it is a very unusual place to get cut from a punch.

I don't agree that Williams was the slighest bit intimidated by Skelton, the commentators talked bollocks throughout the fight "Williams legs are buckling" "Williams is exhausted" "Williams looking very hesitant" etc etc, often inferring what they thought was happening to Williams rather than what the action actually suggested, I was very dissapointed with the commmentary team. It's like they had decided Skelton was going to win, and tried to justify their pick every time Skelton threw any kind of shot.

If williams cant maintain a decent pace through out 12 rounds why is every one talkin about a world title short!!! The standard of boxing seems to be gettin worse and worse now!
williams did look intimidated and Skeltons tatics worked! He looked anxious in the Harrison fight and again in this one! Hes not there physically or mentally...Retire!

Your probably right about the split on the head but didnt it bleed!!!

Ha ha ha, that would be another rubbish slug fest! Funny to watch though...williams would let his head be used as a punch bag again.

For the size of this guy he aint very strong thou, couldnt even put Ruiz away and the decision for Valuev was far from certain! He aint even a good boxer!

Valuev is so slow and has very little power. He is only a creation to make money because of is sheer size. He has never been in with his puncher his entire career.

The controversy in this fight is similar to Audley fight. I know it looked like Audley did shit all but if you scored the rounds, it was a close fight.

I assume he means two rounds were drawn.

I had it 6 to Skelton, 4 to Williams, with 2 drawn. If anything, I was trying to score it in Danny's favour when it was close, so I really can't see how anyone could it in Danny's favour.

I had Skelton by one or two rounds. Lost count a little bit towards the end, but I guess the judges favoured Danny's somewhat cleaner work to Matt's aggression and pressure. I actually think Skelton won the battle of the jabs overall too (which was surprising), but at the same time he could easily have been docked one or two points for fouls, so it's hard to say who "should have won", really.

I caught the fight from rd 4 and felt neither deserved it. but if Skelton bossed early then maybe he deserved it... Skelton was a major let down and Williams was as bad as in his last fight. Seems Williams is only prepared to do soemthing when the other guy's in his face.

Valuev is an atrocious fighter who may have beaten neither Ruiz, Donald nor aged cruiserweight Marcello Dominguez! but he'd still beat that pretender Williams, probably scare him into a knockout loss.

Williams is a time waster and frankly we should be Sick of hearing anything to do with world title fights, the way he's disappointed throughout his career/let his body inflate into wardrobe proportions.

I thought Skelton nicked it, although I can't say I am to bothered about the result.

I'm not too sure I want to see them in a rematch but I very much doubt SN have the ability to get a title shot for Williams, and Frank seemed more interested in a rematch anyhow.

Oh and despite lot's of talk about training all the hours god sends, I thought both fighters looked in poor condition, although Danny did look better than he did in the Harrison fight.

Didn't score this one but Skelton could easily have had 2 points deducted for those fouls.

I reckon a couple of the judges took this into account when they scored. Why the referee didn't deduct anything is anybody's guess.
