Boo to 154 and 160 pounders hiding from Golovkin and especially to Eubanks for their theater.

When are we going to stop believing this lie?

My lie is that promoters are screwing the sport to make themselves rich. Crazy right?

I also don't believe that a fighter is being ducked when their promoter automatically eliminates let's say 17 out of a possible 20 opponent choices only because they won't make enough of the cut ... not enough money, but not enough of the cut.

Some of you think that's a valid reason, I don't.

Everyone is not ducking Golovkin. Many top ranked middleweights have took the challenge.
Proksa (then), Macklin, Geale, Rubio, Murray and Lemiux are not jokers.
The problem is the other filler fights only took place because HBO is ducking the PBC.
Possibly the best division in boxing is 154, and it's largely being ignored.
GGG could have fought Lara and I'm sure one more of the fighters at 154 from PBC.

So my lie is to stop blaming the fighters. 99.99% of them are powerless workers just like us.
HBO is ducking the PBC. Haymon is ducking HBO fighters.
If we keep pointing our ire at powerless fighters, nothing will change.

dont really think the weight will be an issue its the difference in natural talent and skill levels that makes this an impossible task for brook, for me brook let his mask slip in the 1st carson jones fight, you could visibly see brook feeling sorry for himself and the confidence just drained out of him, betcha we see that same look against GGG.

I honesty think that was the best thing ever happened to Brook. Hence I don't think he'll be anything like that against Golovkin. Also there were some very honest comments post that fight about lack of focus and preparation. The biggest problem I see for Brook is that a seriously tough guy in Murray couldn't go 12 rounds with the man then I'm not sure there's anyone out there who can take that beating for 12 rounds. And Golovkin is a good boxer with a really solid chin.

i just think that the things that brook does well wont be enough to deter GGG, golovkin will make that ring seem tiny and brooks main concern will be getting through the rounds rather than winning them

Could well be the case, especially if he doesn't like what is coming his way. I think Macklin made the point that what you can do can become irrelevant after the first coming together, because the guy just gets on top of opponents and hits so hard with every punch that they end up thinking about how to avoid that more than their own offence. Interesting thing about Brook, for me anyway, will be not so much does he carry power up to middle but does he lose power dropping down to welter. If the former I don't see him having the power to make Golovkin be cautious. If it is the latter then he might have enough power to make the man temper his approach and it could go into the later rounds.

What happened sixteen years ago to Golovkin is utterly irrelevant to his current situation. Also, the stats about Ward are incorrect.

Brook was weighed at the famous Wincobank Gym in Sheffield by the British Boxing Board of Control and weighed 167.8lbs (5% limit is 168), while Golovkin tipped the scales at 162.9lb at his Big Bear Training Camp in California.

Brook has naturally good timing with shots to let opponents use a bit of their own weight behind them. So it will be interesting to see if he has a bit of pop to stop ggg walking through him. The sparring with Liam Smith didnt look good with Brook on the back foot in straight lines. At least this fight is genuinely interesting I cant wait to see it and just hope it doesnt go like ggg's current form even though im a fan. Brook is undefeated and may show some good heart, im a sucker for an underdog
