Hughie Fury Vs Andy Ruiz. Fury-Wlad 2 undercard
IMO Hughie Fury is going to shut Ruiz out. Can't wait to see the odds on this fight, no chance Hughie loses this.
Re: Hughie Fury Vs Andy Ruiz. Fury-Wlad 2 undercard
Firstly, It's a great fight.
Secondly, there is lots of hate on Hughie (who's 21, TWENTY ONE years old. ... Younger than every HW at the Olympics, some like silver medalist Joe Joyce by TEN YEARS) and everybody says he is rubbish.
But every time he's pitted against tough opponents for a novice, like Rudenko who was unbeaten and 'beat' WBA World Champion Lucas Browne, Kassi who 'beat' Brezeale and Arreola, and now Ruiz who is unbeaten ...
Everybody says Hughie will win easily! Even though he isn't any good.
How does that work?
So is Hughie Fury dreadful, or actually very talented at 21?!

I don't think the fight will happen, it's probably just the usual nonsense from Peter Fury.
But if it does, I'll pick the talented fatty to beat the talentless PED-abuser.

Re: Hughie Fury Vs Andy Ruiz. Fury-Wlad 2 undercard
Andy Ruiz is a hugely impressive fighter. I really do love his fighting style and his amateur record is phenomenal.
In my mind, he has the very best all-round boxing skills of any currently active world-rated heavyweight fighter.
Unfortunately though, his weight issues, coupled with the fact that he's a small guy that should really be competing as a cruiserweight, will probably result in him losing his bout to Fury.
I very rarely get carried away by a fighter, but if Andy Ruiz was 50lbs or so lighter, he could easily dominate the cruiserweight division for at least a decade. Instead, he’ll probably get is áss handed to him by physically bigger and more athletic guys, possessing vastly inferior (if not primitive) boxing skills in comparison, simply because he’s unable to effectively manage his own weight.

If this fight happens before the end of this year, I will post a picture of my bare arse.

Ruiz is physically grotesque, but one of the most skilled heavyweights out there and has good handspeed. Hughie Fury on points seems by far the most likely decision, but I wouldn't be shocked if Ruiz stopped him.

Skilled? The guy that was getting schooled by tor hamer? I think not. He has some hand speed, his defense is atrocious and he appears to have no motivation to fight.

I so hope this happens. This'd be a great fight.

Although he should be heavily favored over a 40 year old fighter who's only had a single fight following a two year layoff, I'm not so sure that Ruiz gets past Franklin Lawrance on Sept. 10th. So, Ruiz may not even make it to the Fury fight. At least not unscathed & unbeaten.
Lawrance is a very tough, skilled heavyweight with power. He's got 16 KOs in his 22 wins & is on a 9-0 win streak, all of them via KO, since dropping a close, debatable 10 round nod to the much more experienced, former WBC Heavyweight Champ & then top 10 contender Oliver McCall in 2010. So, I expect him to give the unbeaten Ruiz a very difficult fight.
If Lawrance does pull the upset, then I wonder if he'll get the opportunity to fight Fury instead?

Ruiz won't fight Lawrence or fury. Good point though, when I saw Lawrence as an opponent I planned on a small wager.

Shoulda been John Ruiz ...
Card could be named "Suckering idiots into rewatching the worst heavyweight fight in history. And they are so stupid, we're going to bring back the most boring heavyweight champion, and they'll still watch".

You're right - I was getting carried away, I should have said that Ruiz is offensively skilled, I agree that his defense is lacking, although he seems to have a good chin, which somewhat makes up for it. I have to admit, I expected him to blow Liakhovich away and was quite disappointed by his performance in that fight.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Skilled? The guy that was getting schooled by tor hamer? The judge's scorecards in that fight were (as usual) absurd. The fight should have been a draw. Something is wrong with Liakhovich. He threw his fight with Briggs in the last round and he showed no emotion when they read the ridiculous judge scores in this fight.jezzamundo wrote: You're right - I was getting carried away, I should have said that Ruiz is offensively skilled, I agree that his defense is lacking, although he seems to have a good chin, which somewhat makes up for it. BoxRec says Andy Ruiz is fighting Lawrence Sep 10 and Hughie Fury Oct 29. Lawrence has won nine in a row by KO or RTD against mediocre opponents. The only time he's been stopped was by Stiverne ten years ago.

I'd beat him with one hand. That being said, he'll get a gifted decision against Ruiz, if he survives.Maxsplit wrote:Firstly, It's a great fight.

Re: Hughie Fury Vs Andy Ruiz. Fury-Wlad 2 undercard
H Fury is a damn good outside fighter, Ruiz has literally everything stacked against him in this fight only advantage is hand speed/power. I seriously doubt Ruiz will be able to carry his power into the later rounds. He's just too stationary and short for Fury. Ruiz wants to fight toe to toe, IMO Fury is going to Box circles around him. I think Kassi is a better fighter than Andy RuizPsychoGamerTwo wrote:I'd beat him with one hand. Andy Ruiz doesn't fight anyone under the age of 40 so I don't see this fight happening.
With that said, I think there's a better chance of Andy Ruiz fighting John Ruiz in a battle of Ruizs! Live from some crappy out dated arena in some middle America mid size city that has lost 30% or more of its population since 1950.
