Eubank Jr in the UAE on holiday just now

Post by Supremo »

Been posting videos on snapchat all weekend from dubai/Doha eating all sorts and drinking. He's fighting Langford in 7 weeks- why isn't he at home in the early weeks of his training camp?
Too much money from daddy- not enough hunger.

He'll have more money than his dad. The kid trains very hard.

You can eat what you like in the UAE, the heat keeps your weight down. Especially if you train out there. Eubank jr will be in great shape for his fight, he usually is.

Look beyond the pictures and don't believe all you see on Facebook.

It is the equivalent of some bird posting an airbrushed selfie taken from the right angle where she us surrounded by lots of happy smiley people in a club - it ain't real and it's all bollox mate.

When you see a photo of some supermodel in front of a plate of burger and fries and saying how much she loves to eat chips and chocolate - as soon as the camera goes they don't eat the stuff.

I can't think of anything better than to relax with a bit of sun on my back, eat some nice fresh food and recharge the batteries before a hard training camp.

You can tell by the look of him that he don't piss about with his diet and training regime.

Agreed. The heat does help burn fat a bit quicker but you definitely can't eat 'what you like'. Boxers should still stick to a strict diet 7 weeks before a title fight.

Well I think my 14+ years of experience living out here, both training myself and knowing a lot of people in the wider health and fitness industry gives me a bit more authority to comment. Putting on weight here is so common that it's known as the 'Dubai stone' - google it if you don't believe me.

Well I have taken fighters over before in boxing and martial arts and only once had any one of them had trouble making weight, when I say eat what you like, I mean the right foods, not fast foods, cakes, biscuits or crisps, but more food then in Britain.

He is in razor sharp shape constantly and so can easily get away with a mini break and relaxation. It will do hardly any damage and then 7 weeks camp to the fight. Easy.

He will still go into the 7 week training stretch in better shape than many fighters are at 2 weeks out. Lots of fighters are battling weight issues, not in shape outside of fight camps. He is working on it constantly which allows this relaxation as he is just constantly topping up a great baseline condition when training rather than training to get into shape.

His weight looks fine and he obviously trains hard all year round but I would have thought at this point he should be focussing on the fight and not a holiday. He can go to Dubai afterwards. Maybe he just need a short break to gear himself up for the upcoming training.

that's just rubbish, how does the heat keep your weight down, if that's true, why are there so many fat arabs?

It's air conditioned everywhere you go anyway, so what heat? It's not like he's living out in the desert.

The only way the heat keeps your weight down is if you lose your appetite or if you become dehydrated, in which case as soon as you rehydrate, the weight is back.

As I said, it's air conditioned pretty much everywhere you go, and the amount of extra energy expended to regulate your body temperature is minimal comparatively, the human body is very very efficient at maintaining homeostasis.

Actually extreme cold causes your body to work much harder, as the core body temperature is very high, and it's that your body is trying to maintain.

Too much money from daddy- not enough hunger.
I read the first sentence of this as "Beheading videos on snapchat all week"

Could do with a week away myself.
