I say fair play to the guy. A bit chancey - and should have called the police - but still ultimately did the right thing. Too many pass-on-by types these days.
Agreed, too many people would rather leave it. I think it was a great thing to do, it's taken another knob head drink driver off the road who could have killed someone. I also agree the sentences should be way harsher than they are, joke justice in this country.
Absolutely.

Drink driving a killing machine, assaulting a man and refusing to take a breathalyser. What exactly do you have to do to get imprisoned in this country?

Agreed, the hand on the wheel will have been the trigger to smack the fool.

Drink driving like that is no laughing matter, but i hate the do-gooder types like this guy, a few smacks around his chops has probably been long overdue.

Good job someone had the balls to do something. Wouldn't be thinking he was a fool or idiot if someone you knew was killed by an arsehole drink driver. I hope they all get caught and licences taken away and I bet Glen is a repeat and regular offender.A mate of mine was coming back from watching Plymouth Argyle play 20 years ago. A drink-driver hit them head on. Killed his two children and one of their friends, all aged around the 10-12 mark. He was trapped in the car unable to move while his son cried for his dad, then died.
That puts it in perspective i guess.

I just hate the do-gooder types but when you consider the above scenario could have been your family/kids, kind of makes me want to smack Glenn around.

That is the saddest thing I've ever read on Boxrec. My mate and his 2 kids were killed in April of this year in France in a crash. Nothing to do with DD just a tragic accident but my mate initially survived the crash only to see 2 of his kids dead on the road while the emergency services cut him free. He died soon after of a heart attack but God only knows what his last thoughts were when he saw his babies in the road.

That's a truly heartbreaking story and I totally understand why you would have a zero tolerance standpoint but as a society we can't have overzealous do gooders like this chap overstepping the mark based on what could happen in a worst case scenario otherwise every time someone sped past at 90mph on the motorway or someone was spotted selling a bag of drugs in a club it'd give carte blanche to every interfering busybody out there to get involved

I don't think he overstepped the mark. Someone going fast on a motorway is not in itself necessarily dangerous, neither is someone taking drugs in the right setting. Someone swerving around cos they're pissed/drugged up on the motorway or any road is dangerous and I applaud anyone who follows/reports that driver and gets them off the road. The only bit he shouldn't have done was to go up to McCrory's car and confront him. Should have called the police, waited and left it at that.

Hmm. A choice between the two: do I want less do-gooders or less drink drivers? I think I'll opt for the latter thank you very much.

As a society we can't have drink-driving, coke-sniffing scumbags putting people's lives at risk. But a few do-gooders? Sure, they might annoy a few people at times, but they won't maim or kill you.

Some people really need to get there priorities right.

Oddly enough, there was a story in the local paper today about the drink driver story I mentioned. It is bang on 20 years which I had guessed earlier in the week.

Well, it's no more than he deserves, most employers would fire you if you were involved in a drink driving case involving violence.

A friend of mine years ago, got really hammered and got in a ridiculous argument with some girl in the street, she started attacking him, and in the heat of the moment, he belted her, he had to settle out of court with her, because his lawyer advised him he would definitely lose the case, and he knew he would be instantaneously fired from his job, and rightly so.
