So Fres Oquendo retained the right to participate in a world title bout, due to winning a court case against the WBA?

Similarly, Lucas Browne was only granted an opportunity to compete for his old world title, by filing a lawsuit against the WBA and forcing them to settle?

So both guys filed lawsuits against the WBA and now these “unwanted” title challengers are fighting for a minor WBA world championship belt!

It seems that winning fights in the courtroom is as important as winning them in the ring!

With boxing as screwed and corrupt as it is I'm sure we'll see more and more court room resolutions.

Povetkin doesn't get a chance either, despite he used to be far better as the current beltholder. Hopefully the New York court is fair, and forces Wilder and Dibella to give 50 ish million dollar to Povetkin.

In summary the WBA have:

Modified their prior decision regarding Lucas Browne.

Allowed Browne to retain his top 5 WBA rating.

Determined it is unlikely Browne intentionally or voluntarily consumed the Clenbuterol in a single, small dose in the days leading up to the bout.

Determined Browne would not have gained any advantage from the Clenbuterol consumed.

Reiterated the doubts about drugs and drug testing in Russia.

Determined the title is now vacant.

Determined that within 120 days Browne will fight Oquendo for the vacant title.

If for any reason Oquendo is unable to fight Browne, Browne will instead fight the leading, available contender for the vacant title.

WBA is by far the most screwed and corrupt one. Sturm still hasn't been stripped after testing positive, and Shumenov was promoted from an interim to a regular champion just by applying some pressure, while he didn't deserve even an interim belt in the first place.

All the more reason for Browne and Oquendo to take court action against them :TU:

In case you did not notice Browne stopped Chagaev. Wake up to yourself.

Since when did anything you've just written relate to my post?

Did you even make an effort to read my post in its entirety?

In summary the WBA has: used its secondary belt to their advantage and nothing else.

The suspension they issued Browne has already expired, nothing changed on that front.
Old man Oquendo gets his court mandated title shot, nothing changed there either.

The only thing that changed was allowing Browne to be ranked so he can fight for their belt again.
WBA wasn't concerned about "intentional or voluntary" Clenbuterol use when they thought Chagaev would be available to fight Oquendo
Chagaev retired and nobody else is interested in fighting Oquendo for this belt so the WBA actually needs Browne.

This WBA "finding" is mostly a joke.
Just say what it is instead of trying to sugar coat it.
