Hi, can someone answer which belts are actually on the line in the O2 headline pls?
I saw on an interview GGG stating that his belt wasn't on the line? A lot of the sanctioning stuff confuses my somewhat, but as it's not a catchweight I don't quite understand this.
Ditto Brook isn't vacating his IBF Welterweight belt, so even if he gets KO'd on Saturday he will still be a Welterweight world champ on Sunday morning?
Thanks in advance.
Brook vs GGG belts
Re: Brook vs GGG belts
I thought it was Golovkins WBC IBF AND IBO Middleweight titles on the line. His WBA belt is not on the line as the WBA have refused to sanction the fight. Please correct me if im wrong.

I'm sure if Brook is flattened in a couple of rounds the IBF will find a way to remove the belt from him. Probably order a mandatory defence within a week
Re: Brook vs GGG belts
Yeah that's correct the WBA won't sanction it because Brook doesn't qualify to fight for their super champion status at middleweight, the others are regular titles. I'm actually surprised the WBC are allowing it because they are notoriously picky with voluntary defence opponents. The IBF belt is only on the line because brook is an IBF belt holder otherwise they would have probably pulled a Tyson fury on GGG.Stuarty30 wrote:That was my understanding also.edgey2009 wrote:I thought it was Golovkins WBC IBF AND IBO Middleweight titles on the line. Re: Brook vs GGG belts
The usual ineptitude from the pack of feckless blue arsed baboons running loose at the WBA & WBO .
The world welterweight champion stepping up to challenge is clearly unacceptable, whereas any number of middling journeymen challenging is perfectly fine.

A world welterweight champion, certainly not the world welterweight champion.MightyWarrior wrote:The world welterweight champion stepping up to challenge is clearly unacceptable, whereas any number of middling journeymen challenging is perfectly fine.
