What is the best strategy Brook can adopt?

Does Kell even really care whether he wins? It's a low-risk fight, or as low risk as boxing can be.

If he loses, it's because he moved up massively in weight to fight possibly the best fighter in the world. He makes a shed load of dosh, and can return to fighting bums again. It won't detract from his reputation, if anything it increases it because he looks like brave in taking a fight than many wouldn't.

I think Brook needs to adopt the early strategy of Murray vs GGG.

Hold his ground although not necessarily centre-ring and counter G coming in then get out of range as quickly as possible. Murray had some success and Kell is faster. Kell showed vs Porter that he can stick to a gameplan for 12 rounds but he cant afford to stay too close to GGG or clinch as he did in that fight, sooner or later you lose those exchanges and take a shot vs GGG.

Not gung-ho but land a big shot in round one, to make GGG respect his power and not just walk through him, similar to the Lemiuex fight.

Beyond that though, I think Brook's only hope is constant pressure, making GGG miss and trying to time counter shots to look for one to wobble GGG, a massive ask.

Personally, I think Brook puts up a good effort before being stopped by a body shot between rounds 5 and 9, when he tires.

If I was training him the key would be to sit down on your punches early. First 2-3 rounds. Make Golovkin question your power and stop him thinking he can walk right through you.
Also it's possible to do as GGG likes to stalk and have a good look early doors.
After that it's stay out of the pocket were GGG excels and be active. We wouldn't have the power or jab so hopefully being active could nick us the rounds.

Duran promoting his film was asked his gameplan if he fought GGG. He said he's sick of everyone being so scared against GGG and he wouldn't be. He has faith in his chin. Interview talked about GGG jab, Duran said if he starts outjabbing me I'd hit him as hard as I can in the balls, see how he jabs then.

Can't see Brook using the Duran tactic.

I think brook needs to get GGG's respect. He needs to land some big chocolate brownie right hands early doors. Then try and counter, time,move and basically not get hit by GGG. I think this will be near on impossible so will depend on how tough brook is.

Murray is tough and was down early doors on a couple of times, then it was a case of when GGG wanted to step on the gas, kell cannot afford that to happen.

Agreed, this might be a case of having to take a big, early chance just to earn yourself the half a chance of somehow keeping yourself in the fight.
The whole fight will be a minefield for Kell I suspect and he's got to hope that GGG is off form/drained and that everything he does comes good.

Be interesting to know whether he or the team have called Murray or Matt Macklin or just blocked stuff out and made their own plans. I'd have been inclined to have not made those calls....just crack on, work hard and see what happens on the night.
