Fair play to brook

Post by Supremo »

That was far better than I thought. I said GGG in 6 but brook gave him his hardest night ever. Respect.

Boxed class and won a few rounds GGG has barely lost a round in years, he took his shots well but you can see the eye took his toll

I agree. It was the cop out I expected. Hearn's need to fill ppv dates with Sky is contemptible.

What next, Bellew vs a bear?

Brook had my full respect for taking the fight in the first place !!
He showed balls of steel in there, but anyone would of thought he had won listening to this sky team

Is anyone else a little chessed off with that stoppage? Why did Ingle put Brook in with GGG if he was going to pull the plug at the first sign of trouble?

Kell desetved better after that performance.

I think it was the eye socket going you could see a drastic change after it and was only going to get worse

If it transpires that he had a genuine injury then I will fully forgive Brendan, but if Broom ends up fighting the Canelo/Smith (I'm leaning more towards Smith by the day) winner in 4 months I will remain dubious.

Ye I'm sure it will come out he seemed to be pawing at it the round before but I'm sure Hearn will release X-rays :OhYes:

Brook's taking the fight showed up a lot of the middleweights for what they are (especially Eubank). His performance was gallant and very entertaining. I thought he looked like he was riding out another storm and waiting for his chance to throw again, but may change my view on the repeat. I wish Canelo would come scrap with GGG as I think he could do very well. Sadly I think he will remain quivering at light-middle.

Poor old Golovkin. All dressed up and nowhere to go.

Kell was getting knocked out if it wasn't stopped. Golovkin was teeing off.

Hopefully Saunders will step up soon.

They both say they want it. Though that doesn't mean much.

He did much better than I expected, credit to him. Made the rest of the MW division look like a bunch of jokes to be honest that they all ducked and avoided GGG whilst a welterweight was the one to man up, take the fight and give GGG probably the toughest fight of his career.

Ya, he certainly didn't shit the bed. He fought to win and showed a lot of ability, but unfortunately for him his body couldn't deal with the power.

I think the Ouma fight is still probably GGG's toughest, as he gave GGG more sustained issues.

I had it even 2 rounds to 2. I thought Brooks had plenty of power and could have won. I am definitely cheesed off.

Don't buy all this gallantry talk, Brook is a legitimate world champion who has been destroyed on home soil. Brave or just plain misguided ? His promoter should be delivering him realistic opponents in the correct weight class. He deserves it.

I hope Eubank Jr steps up. I actually don't rate Eubank THAT highly but Brook had some success with his uppercuts which are a bit of a trademark of Eubank so that could make the fight interesting.

I'd like to see Eubank step up his opposition from domestic / firnge euro level before stepping into ring with GGG
