Finally the BS hyping of Brook beating GGG is done with. Imo, throwing in the towel is a bitch move, no matter how you spin it. I heard about the eye socket, but his corner would have no idea about that. Especially in a championship fight when neither guy has even been down. Just my opinion.

Now maybe we can see Khan vs Brook at 154? lol Several at 154 that will beat Brook I think. Charlos, Andrade, Lara, Trout, Julian Williams, but Vanes M. would probably be a good fight.

Spence would be Brook's next fight at Welter, and I would bet good money he won't fight him. Spence will stop him too.

His corner could easily know there is something seriously wrong with his eye. They've been in boxing a long time and can probably recognize that type of injury based on how the fighter described it. Brook immedaitely started pawing at the eye after getting hit in the third, and it was clear that something was wrong with it.

I think Brook could beat Trout and Jermell Charlo...maybe not the other Charlo. Still not sure how good J-Rock is. Andrade looked REAL sharp last time I saw him. I think he may well be the best at 154 right now.

His corner wouldn't suspect his socket was fucked... but somehow the Sky commentators suspected it was. You fornicating genius you.

I want to see GGG vs Canelo Alvarez next , if GGG gets past that which he should want to see GGG vs Ward, Kovalev or top 168 pound fighter.

These comments are making me giggle. Ingle did Brook a huge favor. A huge beating was about to take place. And he knew it. A KO was soon about to happen. Probably a brutal one.

Yeah just laying on the ropes and not offering any offense back is definitely a recipe for disaster. I thought the stoppage seemed premature, but it was probably the right thing to do.

A couple of things bother me about this fight. I have not seen any post fight talk, but did Brook blabber on about how he made GGG's knees buckle a couple of times? I must have missed that. I think giving Brook round two is fair, but apparently the scorecards had him ahead at the time of stoppage? Brook said he thought GGG would be a bigger puncher?

“I hurt him. I saw his legs buckle a couple of times. I expected him to be a bigger puncher,” said Brook. “I thought I was tricking him,” said Brook.

wtf

Fight was over. Brook deserves huge plauduts for not going down. They body shots cut Maklin in half yet Brook stood up to them, but by round 5 he was a sitting duck.

This fight was the misnmach i always thought it was, Golovkin walking into shots cause Brook couldnt hurt him doesnt change my opinion on that.

If Brook wants some respect he needs to admit he was beaten by a better boxer. He bragged and bragged about his physical superiority before the fight, etc, etc. He loses, and blames it on the eye thing...does he think he would have won otherwise? Be a man, and admit defeat like a good sport. Poor excuses just make you look like a sore loser.

He says he would fight him again but right after says he is better suited to 154, and would like to take on the Canelo vs Smith winner. No way in hell will he get the winner of that fight. Him vs Khan would be good.

If that was a good job by the corner then let's just cede 3G a perfect career and avoid the damage and havoc he will cause mere mortals. What a load of warm feces.

He clearly won the second. Handily. Say what you like but if you can't recognise that I wouldn't bother worrying about the state of boxing, I'd go and educate myself about the sport.

I think the corner did a fine job. Brook had a serious eye injury and was just sagging, largely defenselessly, against the ropes. After he got rocked in the first he quickly fought back hard, but he was no longer throwing in the final round and his whole demeanor had changed. It looked to me like he was only headed for more serious punishment...

I really don't see the big deal. Brook had a serious eye injury and was just sagging, largely defenselessly, against the ropes. After he got rocked in the first he pretty quickly fought back hard, but his whole demeanor and approach had changed by the end of the fight, and it looked to me like he was only headed for more serious punishment.
Exactly what I saw. There was no need to see anymore, it was only going one way, and with the already injured eye why risk a worse injury? It's a sport, they're not gladiators.

Yeah and they should stopped the legendary Pac v Jmm fight after the third or fifth KD. That would have been just fantastic for boxing.

Brook wasn't even wobbled. He had done his best work in the second half of the rounds.

I admit that it was close to over but if Brook survived the round far more fantastic things have happened.

Utter, 100% bullshit towel.

Brook told his corner between one of the rounds: 3 between 4 maybe. And he admitted so after the fight. In between rounds 4 & 5 you can hear his corner telling him "trust me I'm watching every move, I'm watching every move" Then he grabs Kell by the cheeks and says ......."When [****intelligble******] see Kell Brook you're going to be there, you are still there! Now, that doesn't mean sнiт by itself but it sounded like he was speaking to him as if they both knew the fight was already over and he was saying that it's just a minor setback, it doesn't mean shìt in the grand scheme of things, the big picture hasn't changed, etc. Now this is just my opinion from what I gathered. But Golovkin said that he knew Brook was done by rd. 2, that he didn't beling there. Now that's GGG's opinion but it sounded candid to me.
