Class match up McCarthy makes it look easy and effortless and Askin has looked very improved and impressive lately one of the best domestic matches of the year

Cracking fight this.mccarthy boxed really well against Dickinson last time out.
Matty stopped, Barclay early on in his last fight,so both lads will be going into this with a bit of form behind them, and expecting to come out victorious.

Great fight. I really rate Askin but McCarthy could be going to the top and I favour him on points.

Rutter v De'Ath is off, for now at least.

De'Ath pulled out having suffered an injury in training. Second cancellation on Rutter as he tries to get the Area Title. Bit of a shitter for the lad. Ciaran McVarnock being floated as a late replacement, but nothing at all confirmed.

Good card at Bowlers the other night. George Brennan had a great debut fight and Bilal Rehman scored a brutal knock out win.

Saturday in Wigan, Ryan Farrag scored a poitns win in a quick tune-up for the British Title. Sean Lewis beat Adam Ismail for the Area Title. Every fight went to points, including a victory for Kristian Laight, barring one where Anthony Cacace retired Jamie Quinn after one.

What did you think to Luke Fash? I'm biased but he gives all home fighters a real good go.

He gave it a go, but Evans looked (at eye test anyway) a lot bigger and stronger and generally controlled the fight. Fash threw meaningful shots at least, but for me it was 4-0 Evans.

Yes, he's short, but always comes to fight.

New Show:

19th November @ Victoria Warehouse (VIP Promotions)

No names confirmed as yet, but one mentioned by Steve Wood in a recent video is Chris Conwell v Alex Rutter for the Central Area Super-Feather title. Conwell won this the other week against Lee Appleyard, and has vacated so Rutter can fight for it this weekend v Brad Botham. All things going well, Conwell v Rutter for the CA title should happen on this date.

Also makes a nice little double weekend of boxing, as Keiran Farrell has a show at Bowlers the night before. For all the complaints about the price of tickets recently, you can get two nights of good local professional action for about £50 all in.

This Saturday @ Victoria Warehouse

Prior to the Steve Wood VIP show, catch the North West Amateur Novices Finals live from lunch time. Also to be streamed online, on VIP TV.

Not much confirmed, and wouldn't expect so until fight week to be honest.

Another VIP show on November 19th at Victoria Warehouse though. Alex Rutter defends CA Title, Luke Evans also on the bill.
