Bogeymen?

Post by Stuarty »

Boxing always throws up a fighter that's maybe not as well thought of or as skilled as his opponent but he seems to have the 'better' guys number. Obviously styles make fights. Who can you guys think of? Off the top of my head Vernon Forrest v Shane Mosely and Junior Jones v Barrera spring to mind.....

JMM is a good one. He always gave Pac all sorts of bother. Knew how to time him and done it to perfection in their last meeting.

Ken Norton was to an extent Ali's bogeyman.

Wasn't Jessie Fergusson an actual Boogieman to Ray Mercer when he stole a title shot from Mercer by refusing to take Mercer's alleged in fight bribe to lay down in the first fight?

I'd agree JMM is Pacs bogeyman.

Liston was just way better than Patterson. I wouldn't put that in the bogeyman category.

An example closer to home, could you say Derry Mathews is Anthony Crolla's bogeyman?

I asked the question in a previous thread and never got a decent response so i'll ask again. Who has GG had mental lapses against?

You asked me before and if you check back you'll find I answered your question. Are you related to GG?

I bet Fabrice Tiozzo has nightmares about Virgil Hill......both times Tiozzo was favored to win, yet the first fight sees him having his unbeaten record spoiled, and then seven years later when the momentum seemed back in Tiozzo's favor, Hill blitzes him in one for what was a considerable upset on paper.

He won everything else, but couldn't figure out Hill.
