Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
Could be Hasegawa's last chance at becoming a world champion in three weight classes.
Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
It probably will be, because he's gonna lose by KO or TKO.Cutman Scabbers wrote:Could be Hasegawa's last chance at becoming a world champion in three weight classes.

Japanese fan site has Hasegawa 58% to win, Ruiz 41% to win, 1% draw
Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
Key word there "Japanese" fan site. Half of those voters probably don't even know who Ruiz is. I'd be very confident in a Ruiz victory.Cutman Scabbers wrote:gilgamesh wrote:It probably will be, because he's gonna lose by KO or TKO.Cutman Scabbers wrote:Could be Hasegawa's last chance at becoming a world champion in three weight classes.

Yes but the Japanese fans are usually pretty discerning.
What makes you so confident? Is Ruiz that good, or has Hasegawa slipped that far?
Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
Both. Ruiz is pretty damn good, and Hasegawa isn't even rated Top 10 anymore.Cutman Scabbers wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Key word there "Japanese" fan site. Half of those voters probably don't even know who Ruiz is. I'd be very confident in a Ruiz victory.Cutman Scabbers wrote:

Boxmob readers are genuinely knowledgeable in their polls, they'll remember Ruiz from his bout with Koki Kameda....saying that I tend to agree with you, and think Ruiz is gonna win.gilgamesh wrote:Key word there "Japanese" fan site. ...they do favour Shinskay to win 70%, Moreno 27% and 2% on the draw...and yes I'm aware that's 99%...

Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
I've got a feeling Moreno takes a close one there, at least the odds are way too wide to not put money on Moreno (around 11/2)...
Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
Yeah ridiculous odds considering the first time they fought it was a close Split DecisionBoxing Prospect wrote:I've got a feeling Moreno takes a close one there, at least the odds are way too wide to not put money on Moreno (around 11/2)...

Looking forward to both. I imagine Moreno will have learned from the previous encounter.

Well now we know the outcome
Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
Anyone see Hasegawa-Ruiz?
I havent been able to find a fight report yet, but that looks like an excellent outcome for HH....I was fully expecting him to get KTFO again.

Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
And Yamanaka becomes the first to stop Moreno, putting him down 4 times in the process.
Great night for the Japanese boxers.

Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
I guess Ruiz quit on his stool after 9?
Hasegawa was a rightful underdog but Ruiz isn't a world beater by any means and probably shouldn't have been that big of a favorite.

Re: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Hugo Ruiz
Wow...Hasegawa pulled it off after all. Very good win for Hasegawa
