Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
I doubt that Brook could handle the size and power of Alvarez as well. His own corner stopped the fight, when he fought triple g,I think his best bet is fighting at 154 are 147,he can't handle fighting bigger guys.
Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
Canelo vs Brook would be 50/50 to me

Canelo doesn't hit nearly as hard as GGG. Cotto went 12 rounds with him. Do you think Cotto would survive GGG ?

No, and neither would Trout or Laraboxing_rocks wrote:Canelo doesn't hit nearly as hard as GGG. Cotto went 12 rounds with him. Do you think Cotto would survive GGG ?

Canelo wouldn't be able to pressure Brook the way GGG did. It would be good. I feel Brook would be allowed the ability to move and use his superior speed to win a decision against Canelo....
Who am I kidding, a decision will pretty much always go to Canelo no matter who did the better boxing.

Canelo stops Brook by wearing him down using his counter-puncher style, en-route to scoring a late KO. He won't aim to please the crowd by needlessly taking shots to try and finish things early.
Canelo is far too big for Brook.

I think that Brook gives GingerHead hell and it ends in a close decision.

I'd bet on Brook and lose on a controversial decision. Canelo isn't active enough to stop Brook.

Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
You could be right for all I know, but my concern is that the Brit lacks sufficient power to trouble the heavy handed ginger Mexican or even the likes of other big name 154lb-ers, such as the Charlo brothers, Demetrius Andrade, Julian Williams and Erislandy Lara.Tanzio wrote:Disagree.Enlightened-One wrote:Canelo stops Brook by wearing him down using his counter-puncher style, en-route to scoring a late KO. Put it this way, how many top ten world-rated welterweight fighters has Kell Brook actually stopped?
He employed the Klitschko-esque jab and grab manoeuvre to score a moderately controversial victory over Shawn Porter, whilst Gennady Golovkin openly admits that he couldn’t feel any of Brook’s punches.
Look, I’m not saying that Kell Brook is rubbish or anything like that, it’s just that I have my concerns about his ability to become a big star at 154lbs, when he hasn’t exactly proven himself at welterweight.
That being said, let me return to the same question I asked earlier on, how many top ten world-rated welterweight fighters has Kell Brook stopped?

It actually helps Brook that Canelo likes to fight at a slow pace and methodically attack, preferring mid range center ring action. That's what Kell is good at, distance. I see that as a close fight, and no way is Canelo too big. Brook will fit 154 perfect and we all know Canelo ran back down cuz true middleweight is too much to handle. I like that fight.

Lara - Depends on the level of stalking GGG does. Lara is capable of turning it into a track meet.

I think Brook beats Canelo at 154.
But he might not get the nod (Trout & Lara)
I think only Andrade and the better Charlo clearly beat Canelo enough to get the decision.
But they'd still get screwed.

No-way Brook beats Canelo.........Kell would be seeing 5 Canelo's
Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
Alfredo 'twinkle toes' Angulo caught up with Lara enough times to drop him twice, i reckon GGG might do even better.gilgamesh wrote:Track meet or no Lara gets stopped by Golovkin.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Trout - Definitely not.gilgamesh wrote:

I've always thought when Canelo was beating up Welters at Caneloweight that Brook was the only one in the world who could cause the upset. I'm even more confident of that now.
Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
Canelo's been in the public eye for so long that i think that people forget that this kid is only 26 years old and hasn't even reached his prime yet. If you take his recent cowardice aside and just look at his progress over the last couple of years, this kid just keep getting better. I personally think that he's one of the top 5 most devastating punchers right now in boxing. The combo's that he's throwing now mixed in with faints are impossible to stop at times. I'm talking about that faint left hand to the body that turns into a bomb overhand right that he's taking people out with now.
I'm no Canelo rump swab but just calling it like I see it. I think people still consider this the Canelo that got smoked by Floyd years ago. This is no longer that kid and we haven't even seen his best yet. But he deserves everything he's getting for ducking GGG. THAT, is unforgivable.

I'd expect Canelo to win, not as easily as GGG, but he'd grind Kell down, like GGG, he wouldn't be fazed by anything Brook landed, and he'd just keep surging forward.

Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
I do think Canelo is underrated, I'm also not sure how much he is to blame for the situation with GGG - Oscar is very protective of his golden egg, or rather ginger egg, I expect that if they do fight in the next 2 years, Canelo will give a very good account of himself against GGG, even in a losing effort, he's a very durable guy, and has good combination punching.caldo2025 wrote:Canelo's been in the public eye for so long that i think that people forget that this kid is only 26 years old and hasn't even reached his prime yet. Canelo is slow, desperately slow for me. I could see Brook's speed winning him round after round. How long he could keep it up, I don't know. I'm another one that can see a dodgy Canelo points win.

Canelo's combinations aren't slow, he's no flash harry, but he puts his shots together exceptionally well.Ian1973 wrote:Canelo is slow, desperately slow for me. I don't think Brook could keep him honest, or hurt him.
Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
I often see people refer to Canelo as a major puncher, but I'm not sure if I agree.caldo2025 wrote:Canelo's been in the public eye for so long that i think that people forget that this kid is only 26 years old and hasn't even reached his prime yet. Look at his KO victims---extremely chinny Khan and Kirkland, blown up flabby Lopez, and old worn-out Baldomir. He didn't come close to stopping chinny Trout, he never had little Cotto down or in notable trouble, Angulo took everything without being budged, and Lara absorbed some good bodyshots without being visibly hurt. Is he really that much of a puncher?
Also, it shouldn't be assumed that just because someone is 26 they are yet to reach their prime; fighters peak differently and Canelo turned pro very young.
Re: Canelo would knockout Kell Brook as well.
It would be a close fight that I'd put in the 60/40 range for Canelo.
Would not be surprized at any outcome. A stoppage for either man wouldn't surprize me and I could see either man winning close on points (with unbiased judges obv)
The only outcome I couldn't see is a very wide points win. I think it would be a tight affair with plenty of good action

That's the thing, he doesn't surge forward. Canelo prefers to counter. He can't cut off the ring at all and ggg threw more punches in Rd 5 than canelo throws in 5 rounds.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I'd expect Canelo to win, not as easily as GGG, but he'd grind Kell down, like GGG, he wouldn't be fazed by anything Brook landed, and he'd just keep surging forward.
