Gonzalez might well be P4P No. 1, moving up in weight to fight Mexican Carlos Cuadras at 115. I know nuffink about Cuadras. Has anyone seen him? Is this a tough bout for Gonzalez?
All I know is that Cuadras is HUGE & has weighed as much as 119 pounds, the behemoth
Gonzalez has weighed as little as 104 1/4. He has no chance
I've seen a few of Cuadras's fights and personally think he is being criminally overlooked.
Personally I would not be shocked if Cuadras wins this. Sure I've seen him 5-1 with bookmakers when he should I think he should be less.
I've only followed Gonzalez since he beat Yaegashi and think Cuadras is easily Gonzalezs hardest fight. The key think is he is more than capable of boxing 12 rounds of the back foot as shown against Concepcion who just won the ( actual ) WBA title at the weight during the week. Cuadras absolutely dominated him but Gonzalez offensively is leagues above Concepcion.
I'm looking forward this fight much more then the public execution we are being served up on PPv the same night.

They announced it in the last hour thought they might of picked it up because they don't have anything else on that weekend. hoping they get Glowacki/Usyk on the 17th but don't think they'll bother as they have Canelo/Smith in the early hours after
Cant wait to see Gonzalez again,he's my favourite foreign fighter along with Lomachenko and Golovkin,i love the way he puts his punches together,he's so accurate in his combination punching its special to watch,very patient too,doesnt mind having a little look first before he gets to work,he was actually a bit below par against Arroyo last time out but still won well,i thought the cards were a bit wide though
Ive never see Cuadras before but his record looks good although my knowledge of the smaller guys leaves a lot to be desired,he can punch though so it will be intresting to see how Roman copes at the new weight
I'll go with Gonzalez on points based on nothing other than seeing his talent before and me being a bit of a fanboy
Not been impressed by Cuadras. Thought he ran from Srisaket in a comically big ring then got ran closer than he should have against the guy but limited Eto. Not sure Cuadras would have much luck against Inoue or Ancajas.
He does however have a good looking resume and 2 very good wins, Srisaket and Concepcion. The rest of his opponents have been B tier at best.
Nice speed, good skills, big lump but not the puncher his record suggests
Great fight fought at a furious pace until the end,i had Gonzalez winning 116-112 but it was tough in there for him,Cuadras looked massive compared to him and Roman's shots didnt seem to have any effect on him,1st time i'd seen Cuadras he's a very good fighter himself,i cant see Gonzalez moving up anymore he looked tiny but what an engine
WHAT a fighter Chocolito is, but was amazed by how small he looked against a super fly.
He well won that fight but he looked really beat up at the end, swollen face and looked like he could barely put his shirt on after....I really think he needs to go back down, surely there is no need for such a talent to be handicapped size wise against bigger fighters. He'll keep winning but at what cost ?
I agree that this may not be his optimal weight. His power clearly had much less of an impact and his face really showed the force of Cuadras's shots. He was physically stronger and still showed his excellent combination punching to win 7-5 on my card, but it was definitely his toughest fight in a long time, and he looked weary in the last few.
I see Inoue being a 60/40 fight in Romans favour but give Inoue a better chance the longer the time the fight happens.
I see Super-Fly a weight to far. Would love him to move back down at fly and take on all comers and reign supreme for another 2 years.
He was amazing Saturday. To beat a very highly skilled boxer who's naturally bigger was maybe his greatest accomplishment to date.
