Eubank sr hoped to generate a lot of (bad) publicity for his son, and make a mockery of the sport's perceived top fighter PFP, GGG, by stalling, then ultimately refusing to sign.

Instead, Golovkin found a new challenger, defended spectacularly his titles in a very high profile fight seen by millions of fans, winning his biggest purse in the process.

Now, Brook's marketability and star status have gone through the roof; everybody talks how brave and courageous Kell was; networks are already planning to pin him vs Cotto or Canelo.

And amidst this adulation for Kell, the Eubanks end up seen as cowards with eggs on their face, reviled by the whole sport. Their recent towel comments doesn't help their case.

Eubank Sr. managed to orchestrate a lot of publicity for his son, albeit mostly bad, but that won’t prevent him from earning a massive payday against GGG when they eventually fight. His antics may have been a publicity stunt aimed to gain more infamy, which usually translates to bigger fight purses, assuming the public are willing to part with their hard-earned cash in order to see him lose.

Remember, Eubank Jr. could have earned the same $4m sum that Brook accepted, but now he has the chance to gain more experience, refine his skills, gain some man strength, allow the veteran GGG to deteriorate with age ever-so-slightly... and still earn the very same sort of payday to face Golovkin sometime around June of next year.

I think there are better positions to be in than the one the Eubanks put themselves in. Junior's opposition has been nothing to write home about, the GGG offer was a great opportunity, no telling if it will be offered again.

A funny thing is he seems to have drawn the color line; no decent black fighters on his resume.

But the problem now is that
1.there are OTHERS british fighters Gennady can make the same amount of money as vs Eubank.
2.GGG's own drawing power in UK has grown

If Brook gets a solid win at light middle, people will demand a return vs GGG.

Maybe Degale will enter the mix.
Both are more proven commodities than Eubank, who many see now as afraid of GGG and a loudmouth who can bark but doesn't back it up in the ring.

Gennady won't necessarly need him to make big purses there.

Eubank Jr had the chance to fight the best fighter in the sport now & swerved it.

Remember Riddick Bowe swerving a Lewis fight thinking that he could bag some spare change against some patsies & rematch the supposedly easier Holyfield in the meantime & fight Lewis down the line for more money?

We all know what happened & they ended up never fighting, because they didn't fight when it was 'hot'.

It may well work out the way you have said for Eubank Jr, but you can never be sure & you never know what will transpire.

Eubank made a mistake not jumping on this fight. He fought Saunders way before he was ready, after bombing out a bunch of nobodies and not learning how to box. Golovkin looked a bit drawn and over trained for Brook. He had less than 2 extremely easy rounds in the last 11 months or so and he also looked to be less than sharp. That isn't enough actual rounds to keep a puncher sharp. Hopkins, Lampley, Abel Sanchez, and others remarked that GGG looked a little rusty. Sanchez gave him a "4" on a scale of 10. GGG wasn't feeling it. He went in and overpowered Brook instead of taking his time, boxing, jabbing, and setting him up like he generally does. It was a good fight but he wasn't the precision killer he usually presents.

A big, tall, powerful, very skilled, prime Middleweight like Eubank, who punches a lot harder and is a lot stronger than Brook, might have gone 12. Eubank looked terrible and very green in the BJ Saunders fight. He had only 18 fights and not much of an amateur career behind him. HIs trainers, including his father, knew ZERO about training boxers. But he still lost a competitive SD because of his natural ability. He's come into his own now, and I'm looking forward to him fighting Saunders, Jacobs, Canelo (HA HA fat chance he gets Canelo) or GGG. All of them know Eubank would be no cup of tea.
