Re: Krusher Win Close Decision Upsets Ward
Still haven't changed my opinion even remotely on this, I just don't see how, style wise, Ward wins.
Output shmoutput, Ward will make Kovalev throw less but he's going to have to make him throw nought to avoid getting caught at some point. I don't care who you are, you are getting tagged hard, multiple times in the fight, if you're in with Sergey, and I don't believe Ward can deal with it.

Agree with this... Defensive masters are very, very hard to beat. How hard their opponent hits is usually irrelevant.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Come on, you watch too much boxing to pose that question. Guys like ward, defensive masters, drop all their opponents output, sergey does appear to possess that I don't give a eff quality. But how many people, other than me, thought Whitaker would make Chavez docile? No bigger balls than frochs and he never went for broke.boxing_rocks wrote:How exactly will Ward be winning more rounds when Kovalev has a higher work rate and more effective punches ???BAD INTENTIONS wrote:I could see a Degeale/Dirrell situation occurring.
Ward wins more rounds, but Kovalev knocked Ward down or hurt him.
Those type of fights can be close.
Like Hopkins/Pascal 1 or Manny/JMM 1.
They tend to not like speed...volume (but as Saad points out this usually drops)...or coming up against another defensive master...
