Best Fighting Family

Post by gilgamesh »

There's quite a number of Boxing families where there's Fathers and Sons, or several Siblings that all took up the sport. Who is the most decorated of these families you guys think?

Gene Fullmer and his brothers Don and Jay all have respectable records with Gene obviously being the best of the family.

The Spinks family has produced 3 World Champions. Leon, Michael and Cory.

Who's some more worthy of the conversation?

Good shoutout. Tremendous records for both of them. I was familiar with Mike Gibbons, but wasn't as familiar with Tommy's record.

The Toweel 'clan' from South Africa deserve a shout, Tiozzo's from France and of course a couple of large Ukrainian siblings.

I think the most successful fighting family in boxing should be the Klitschkos brothers. They dominated almost a whole decade the heavyweight division.

Then, after them, I will pick the Spinks family. All of the three members of the family were undisputed world champions: Leon at heavyweight, Michael at light-heavyweight and Leon's son Cory at welterweight. All three were the lineal world champions, too.

Good pick mate but I think 3 in 1 family [Spinks] all UNDISPUTED WORLD CHAMPION'S that's out of this WORLD NUM 1....................................... No Spinks Jinx here :salut:  :TU:

Hell Juan Manuel has won World Titles at Welterweight hasn't he? Surely there was some title on the line for Pacquiao IV. In this day and age every fight of any slight significance has a belt at stake

Brothers Ray, Emile, Andre, Alfred, Lucian Famechon. Ray was the most successful and well known.... had a long stint as European champion.... challenged unsuccessfully for Willie Pep's FW title....

Andre's son, Johnny Famchon won the FW title from Jose Legra... he defended it successfully twice against Harada before losing the title to Saldivar.... he then retired....

Manny has just lost his Welterweight world title in his previous fight with Bradley. JMM did win an interim world title at 140 though.

The Weaver brothers: Mike, Lloyd, Floyd and Troy.

Muhammad and Rahman Ali, in addition to Laila, who I believe was already mentioned.

Joe Frazier, Jackie Frazier-Lyde, Marvis Frazier and Hector Frazier.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Robbie Sims.

The Klitschko Bros won some 35 or more World Heavyweight Championship Fights between them... No other family has come close to that.
