Your Current Top Three P4P
Your Current Top Three P4P
You can tell us why if you like or just pick three from the list.
Just who you think are the top three boxers, Pound for Pound, at the moment.
I've put nine options (I'm guessing you can only do ten for a poll) so if you think it's Yamanaka, Frampton, Stevenson, Fury, Lara or someone else I've missed completely, please let us know.

Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
I think Gonzalez and GGG are shoe ins and they are the 2 everyone has voted for so far.
I'm tempted to put Kovalev in there but he doesn't have GGG ability and I'm tempted to put Ward in because he is that good, but it's been so long since he has done anything noteworthy.
So I've gone for Terence Crawford, I really like the guy and think he can hit the top spot. Can't wait to see him take on some of the best at WW.
Pacquiao would be a great fight and one that could comfortably be made at 140 or 147 as they share promoters.

Just on ability I'd have Ward, GGG, then Gonzalez. I know Ward's recent resume is mediocre, but I think he's excellent.

Ward and Gonzales are the only certain for me. Then I went Crawford. Ggg's opposition has been rank.
Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
GGG, Gonzalez and Crawford but they're three of my favourite international fighters so I'm probably being a bit bias... The winner of Ward v Kovalev has a strong case for the number 1/2 spot.
Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
1) GGG - Number 1 and 2 are really close I just shade it too Golovkin.
2) Roman Gonzales - His record speaks for itself although is a bit easier at the lighter weight.
3) Sergei Kovalev - I think quite a few can be around number 3... Ward on ability.. Tyson Fury for being the man who beat the man.. Saul Alvares you can argue with his 50 fight record... In saying that I would give it to Kovalev due to his win over Hopkins

Pacquiao should be an option.
Garcia doesn't deserve to be up there.

Gonzalez, GGG and Kovalev
Gonzalez's resume is the strongest of any active fighter not called Pacquiao

Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
where do people see Wladimir then at this current moment? He's had one defeat, how far should he realistically drop after that because some people have him out of the top ten all together.Same goes for Pacquiao.
Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
He is. You click on Other then say Pacquiao.Horse wrote:Pacquiao should be an option.
Shouldn't be too difficult, even for you 'orse.

Why did you choose Garcia instead of Pacquiao?Taansend wrote:He is. You click on Other then say Pacquiao.

Terrible poll.

Should Fury also be on the list?

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and look forward to a brighter tomorrow.

Lomachenko ?
Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
I did ponder his name but, in my humble onion, he needs one more big win first.martinmrts wrote:Lomachenko ?

I don't think Wlad was ever a top 3 guy, I think both he and Fury might be in the lower end of the top 10/15 now. Probably close to each other in the rankings.LancashireLoyal wrote:where do people see Wladimir then at this current moment? He's had one defeat, how far should he realistically drop after that because some people have him out of the top ten all together.Same goes for Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is a different story IMO. He's comeback to beat a guy who I still (even if no one else does) hold very highly and probably a top 10 P4P er himself. I think there is a legitmate case for Pac to still be top 3. For me, he is higher than Crawford - even though I suspect Crawford will beat him when they fight.
Its quite sad really that much of the higher echelons are really unproven/tested guys. I blame these catchweight fights, stopping the really intriguing fights happening.
Most of the names on the poll have not fought the best guys in the division. GGG has partially unified but then it could be argued that Alvarez win over Cotto is perhaps more meaningful than GGG vs Lemieux etc.
Alvarez himself, Lara and Cotto aside, has not beaten an elite Light Middle/Middleweight yet. If you cannot get GGG - fight Andrade.
Crawford - great fighter, beaten some good names - but when is he going to fight someone at least someone gives the opponent a chance.... Not really done that since Burns. If he beats Pacquiao then he is right up there.....
Ward, again I don't see him as a Light Heavy at all and isn't even a world champion currently.
Kovalev - Needs Stephenson (and vice versa).
Garcia - Overachieved, but there are some good fighters at 140/147 that he has not faced (and frankly I'd expect him to lose).
Rigondeux - well his problems with getting the big fights are well documents. Talent wise he is up there with anyone.
It has to be Gonzales at 1 - the rest need to do a fair bit more.

GGG Gonzalez and ward are my top three and the order iv put them

Hoping he moves up to lightweight soon to take that title once he does that he moves into the top 3.. He in my eyes will end up being p4p number 1.. Best actual boxer in the world

Why can't he stay where he is and unify?
Re: Your Current Top Three P4P
Got to say I do think it's slightly strange that Manny seems to have been forgotten from the P4P discussion since Mayweather beat him. He's obviously not the fighter he was about 7 years ago, but if someone like Brook or Thurman had fought Bradley in April and dropped him twice on their way to a wide points win I think they'd get thrown right into the mix for being around #5 P4P.
