Callum Johnson vs Willbeforce Shihepo

Post by handsofstone »

For the vacant Commonwealth LHW title on the Crolla card, good to see Johnson finally get his 1st title shot after what seems like an eternity since he turned pro,he made a bit of a name up here in Scotland after winning Gold at the Commonwealth games in 2010 but his career has been slow to say the least

Signing with Naz was a bad move in the 1st place and between promotional issues, injuries and poor matchmaking he hasnt been able to get any momentum going so far,he's always impressed me when ive seen him,he looks strong and goes about his work well,i reckon he can be a force providing he gets cracking

I remember seeing Shihepo lose to Abraham a few years back,he's also got a couple of decision losses to Chilemba and a stoppage defeat to Kashtanov,he seems durable but i reckon Johnson getting him at the perfect time to force a stoppage

6 fights in his first 4 years wasn't busy enough but seems to have been working away better for the last couple years.
I first spotted him when I was looking up a lad I used to work with, Luke Allon and noticed there was a Ringside video of him getting worked over by Callum finished with a nice body shot,
looks a decent fighter the lad. Will keep an eye on him

Good fight, nice test for Johnson - nice to see the Commonwealth title being used for a competitive title bout.
