With quigg , smith , Crolla all losing their belts what next ? 3 world champions gone in a year
Love or hate Joe he as done a great job getting them to that level , maybe a rematch is in place for linares which you would probably not fancy but the ability of quigg and smith not being elite what is next
Callum smith is a fantastic talent but would he beat de gale ?

In fairness they lost all 3 world titles to great fighters so they have put themselves in against the best. Crolla will no doubt get more world title shots although I don't fancy him against Linares or Flanagan, Quigg can probably grab a title, Liam Smith can make money fighting Brook, maybe going up for Saunders and Eubanks Jr, Callum Smith I reckon will grab a title belt, still got a very strong stable

He lost Quigg's title for him and training Crolla via Skype in the last couple of weeks wasn't bright. Horse was right, he needs monitoring.

Perhaps his stable is too big. Liam flew over to Dallas on the Sunday because Callum and Paul were boxing journeymen the night before. Who was training Crolla?
Gallagher could do with some help but prefers to have Crolla or Quigg in the corner. Maybe he worries that he wouldn't get as much spotlight on him.

Not a fan of Gallagher, grates on me for some reason. You can't really argue with his results though.

Like Manchester Massive said, all three guys were beaten by elite competion in their respective divisions.

He's still got Callum Smith on the brink of big things, Callum Johnsons just won the Commonwealth belt and Hosea Burton is still undefeated British Champion.

Heard good things about Marcus Morrison too but would like to see him fight a decent british lad next.

The guy is a weird little man who has made 16500 posts on this forum. When you talk such continuous bollox, amongst it something is going to be right, pure logic and law of percentages. Does not mean he has any fcking idea what he is talking about though

Quigg will win a world title again. He's a quality boxer who only lost because of a piss poor game plan. Crollas had his moment in the spotlight, he should chase a money fight with Flansgan but can't see him winning another world title. Smith is still young, he won a title before he was ready. Back to the drawing board with him, maybe a few fights against Rose, Macklin and other fringe world level fighters.

They lost to quality fighters, but had many quality fighters had they beaten? Had they perhaps been a bit fortunate to hold titles in the first place? Not taking anything away from them but had any of beaten a series of proven world class opponents?

Maybe it's less of a bad run and more a case of luck running out...

Crolla's wins over Barros and Perez were good, but were they..THAT good? Quigg's win over Martinez was good, but again was it THAT good? Liam Smith...well the less said there

You need to remember that a lot of what we consider to be our "World" champions are often fringe world level at best.

When boxing similar level boxers (often also usually British) they are ok, but when they face other fringe world level boxers they often lose.

A lot of the time we are kidding ourselves with what level our boxers are at.

Gallagher was harping on about the game plan and tactics he planned against Linares but after watching it what did anyone see different than any other of Crolla's fights it boxes the same way, hands up tight guard, putting pressure on with his footwork making his opponent work every second of every round

They won titles, got big fight paydays. Fighters do win and lose titles.

Crolla often learns a lesson from one fight to the next. Experience helps him a lot. He has perseverance and endurance and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win the rematch.

This forum has become a bit of a miserable place for sad little people with an axe to grind.

I dare say it was the experience of previous fights that helped Linares here. There was no blistering start from the visitor as he had against DeMarco, it was more of a controlled performance from him than I remember seeing. Wasn't as fan as he was earlier in his career but he showed a more intelligent approach than he ever had and had energy to burn late on

Basic trainer of basic fighting style. With good physical preparation and solid fundamentals you can get quite far in boxing. But he will always loose to truly world level opposition.

Callum Smith is the next on the bubble.

Does Gallagher's percentage go down if his boxers lose?

On the money. What true world level is and what sky etc etc say is world level is a massive difference.

Exactly I've summed this up on another thread. But the following trainers in the UK in my opinion have better wins than Joe Gallagher

Dave Coldwell, Peter Fury, Shane McGuigan, Jimmy Tibbs, Doninic Ingle, Tony Sims and boxrecs very own Billy Nelson.

EDIT Knewthere was someone I forgot Adam Booth has better wins

I slated Gallagher hard for the Frampton Quigg because he was the main reason for Quiggs embarrassing performance for the first 8 rounds. Plus his attitude before and after that fight was simply disgusting.

However he was at no fault for last night Crolla got beat by the better man plain and simple nothing to do with bad tactics losing the fight Joe had no complaints afterwards which was refreshing.

I slate him and others do but let's face it a few years ago when Crolla got smashed by Derry no one thought he would get near genuine world level and he has. Gallagher has played his part in that so does deserve credit for Crollas improvement since then.

During the post fight interview Crolla said something along the lines of " i got caught with a few big counters from shots that Joe told me to throw, which i'm dissapointed with"

Now I may have misunderstood (or even miss heard) him, but that almost sounds like he was blaming Gallagher to an extent.

The way I heard it he was saying he got caught with shots Joe had warned him about, and he was humbly saying he should have followed instructions better

Anyone else know the bit me and keirw mean here?
