Peter Fury interview on Tyson
Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
This drives me mad, someone needs to have a bloody strong and honest word with these people. They go on and on about how Tyson won a big fight and has never been respected, been treated badly, gets picked on by the media and everyone needs to look at themselves over it.
Then blamed the world bodies for revealing he failed a drug test. Not a moment to accept that he did fail a test and that may be their fault.
Please someone somewhere tell them that Tyson talks such offensive BS and that is why he gets the lack of respect. This is all 100% their own fault and nothing to do with the "the system breaking one man down". Have a look hard look at how they have conducted themselves, the interviews, what has been said, how they have said it. As some point, one needs to look at ones own behavior and take responsibility.
They are so fixated on what he did in the ring that they cannot see past it and ignore the rest.
He should be a mega star and is his personality and attitude was different, I would celebrate him. This is zero to do with being a traveller but totally to do with how much I would hate my son to listen to the disgusting things he says.
Look AJ may be fake and we can see that and we laugh at #stayhumble BUT my son, who is 10 is far too young to understand that. Which one do I want him to listen to and pay attention to? Which on the surface looks and sounds like a role model?

Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
I agree with this 100%. Peter is blaming everyone except Tyson. Lennox wasn't so popular with the British fans to begin with. He had to work at it.tobyh5 wrote:This drives me mad, someone needs to have a bloody strong and honest word with these people. If you insult the gay community, then you upset a lot of the LGBT community as well. If you say women should be at home washing the pots, then you're going to ostracize them as well. That only leaves straight men and all of them can't like the guy. His father is a convicted criminal, who blinded someone. His trainer isn't allowed into the US. He and his cousin both have doping allegations hanging over them. Some people don't care for Tyson's behavior in and out of the ring and they wonder why he isn't popular,
Chris Eubank was never loved by the majority of the British public, Tyson isn't, so what?
Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
Absolutely pathetic behavoiur from Tyson and his team. He should be stripped immeadiately.
The best thing he could do would be to keave Hennessy, get himself a new promoter and trainer, and whole new team, because his current outfit have just proven they cannot handle him and have no clue how to manage his career.

Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
I think people don't understand Tyson.. The questions he gets asked at press conferences are so silly it's unreal. The press give him silly questions so he gives them silly answers. I agree 100% with what Peter has said. How can someone beat one of the greatest ever Heavyweights and get treated like something that we have stepped in. AJ has fought no one.. There is a fight on here with Trey Morrison who has no amateur experience and has a total of 11 fights.. He fought a guy last night who had beaten Charles Martin and Dominic Breazeale in the amateurs.. Trey stopped him in the first round. AJ is put over as some kind of superstar yet he has fought no one.. He was gifted a gold medal at the Olympics.. The guy used to be a drug dealer yet people want their kids to be like him and not a guy whose never been in trouble in his life.. Tyson will do anything for anyone he is a great human being and the people who treat him like rubbish should have a long hard look at the situation. Stop listening to the Hype do a bit of research just look into what Tyson does for charity, As for the Drug ban I have been told that Tyson and Hughie both failed a piss test.. If you do your research these tests are so outdated.. They are very prone to shooting up false positives.. I am told that they have only ever failed this test "EVER" and there was blood work taking at the time that was clear. People need to realise that the amount of tests they have had Nandrolone would of shown almost every time.. It's really hard to find.. Then you look at AJ who doesn't fight for long periods of time is clearly on cycles so he doesn't get caught. Is rumours that he has failed tests yet these get brushed under the carpet because he's the nations sweetheart.. We live in a messed up world and I genuinely feel for Tyson.. Mental Illness is a horrible thing.. When you get into that spiral it's so hard to get out. I hope we see him back because we need him.. The real people understand what kind of man he is. He is a Giant among men with a Heart of Gold. Get well soon..

And whats that all about, turning up to last nights fight with big smiles on his mug. Who are they trying to kid.
Get him stripped, boxing will move on without this lot. He's moaning about a lack of respect, welll he won mine some time ago but has well and truely lost it now.

Joshua was (possibly is) a dick. He made some serious errors of judgement when he was younger. At the same time, how many of us didn't? I have a lot of respect for someone who can at least try to turn themselves around and at least try to present themselves as a role model. And please, let's not pretend Tyson is a saint. He holds, and has expressed on more than one occasion, some (in my opinion) repulsive views.
I'm not going to address the drugs testing bit because it's all complete speculation ("I am told...", "rumours that he has failed tests" etc)
If Fury wants to be respected amongst the boxing community, then he's succeeded for the most part. He beat "the man". But if he wants to be popular with the general public, he'll have to lay off the homophobia, sexism, antisemitism etc. If you want people to just "be themselves" then fair enough, but don't piss and moan when people think "Actually, he's a bit of a dick sometimes"

Do you actually grasp the concept that it does not matter whether AJ is genuine. Whether Tyson actually is an ok fella. That he is asked stupid questions and then says stuff that he is not serious about. That it is about what you put out there? They report on what is said. If you are getting pulled apart for stuff that you are saying, the answer is TO STOP SAYING IT. But no, moan on and on and on which is insane.
My ten year old does not have the world experience to work all this shite out, he is still on a basic level of hearing stuff and believing it, does not have the concept of anything deeper. So accept it and live in the world in which is reality and behave in a way that works in society or if that is not what you can or want to do, don't be moaning when it blows up on you!
I am not going to sit with my child and try to explain that this stuff Fury says about women, gays, other people, paedophia etc is part of his game. No, I am just going to make damn sure my lad never hears it. Fake or not, I will let him listen to AJ saying that you must work hard and be a good guy and treat people well.
Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
To add. Media outlets have a duty to say: "This stuff Fury says, it is wrong and disgusting and it is not true and does not have a place in society."
That is their goddamn job. I want that put out for the next generation. Fecking right. Tell them that it is not an acceptable way to speak. I never want my son to say that being gay is wrong, against the bible, that people are pussys and w4nkers, that they can kiss my ass. That a woman should be in the kitchen and run around after their men.

On a boxing forum Fury will be given "respect" for his boxing achievements however 90% of the public are not that bothered - they just see a big lumox coming out with racist, sexist, homophobic rants.
If he wants respect then maybe he should start by being more respectful to others

As for all this moaning about AJ serving up and being a small time hood in his youth, and Tyson being whiter then white, do you not ever consider Peter spent years and years behind the door as a cat A prisoner for being a violent gangster who served up speed wholesale and drove a Ferrari? Google it and apparently he was still running the business in jail. Fury apologists like to go on about the family being rich anyway, so not fighting for money, without really questioning how they made that money in the first place. They're not nice people. They're horrible. I'm fed up with them now.
Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
I'm not sure that is true he has become the number one heavy weight in the world through Hennessy. The problem fury has is that if he wants to run his mouth off he has to back it up in the ring - no fights since winning the titles is unacceptable especially when your whole self proclaimed gimmick / manifesto was that you were going to be a great champion who fights all comers and never pulls out of a fight.ALI wrote:Absolutely pathetic behavoiur from Tyson and his team. The best thing he could do would be to keave Hennessy, get himself a new promoter and trainer, and whole new team, because his current outfit have just proven they cannot handle him and have no clue how to manage his career.
if he can't get motivated to fight wlad again or the tickets aren't selling (I don't think people in the U.K. are all that bothered about seeing a rematch) then he should just relinquish the belts and go for the big money or legacy building fights wilder, AJ and Haye that's all he needs to do. 3 fights that will earn him more the £20million or so in total that people actually want to see.
I don't believe wlad is finished or old at all It was a fantastic achievement for fury. But I think he just proved that wlad made a career out of dominating smaller men. I am not really that interested in seeing him crap his pants in a ring against fury again.

Jesus that is right, he did say that. How on earth do they not correlate the connection between this stuff and how he is perceived?
I do not know why IFL do not stop them mid rant to ask if they understand that in society, that attitude is not liked and maybe that is why they are not respected nor liked.

Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
Hold on a second veriton. In the video, Peter blames the media, but as Toby points out, if Fury says something that offends people, the media have every right to report it. Peter thinks Tyson not being popular is somebody else's fault when it ain't. Tyson Fury does and says as he pleases and the public decide whether or not to like him. Saying homophobic and sexist things isn't going to make him a wildly popular athlete. He's never had a massive fan base anyway.veriton wrote:who gave you the right to say what is right and what is wrong? people have different views, that's life. you preach being liberal but cant tolerate any other kind of view.tobyh5 wrote:To add.
That a woman should be in the kitchen and run around after their men.
just respect fury for what he has done in the ring, we are boxing fans after all. all the rest is just noise, who gives a fk?

Re: Peter Fury interview on Tyson
10 year olds will be hearing far worse than anything Fury has said in the playground at school.
I'm not defending Tyson, as far as I am concerned he has a right to say what he wants, and conversely people can judge how they wish to.
I thought that interview wasn't too clever from Peter, blaming everyone else but one self is a systematic flaw in the society we live in today.

That of course is true mate but hearing it from other young 10 year olds is different to hearing it from someone in the position of Fury. They know a kid in the playground is talking bollox, when we as society let a man say and act like Fury without pulling him up on it, we are sending out a message that it is acceptable.Twinkle Toes wrote:10 year olds will be hearing far worse than anything Fury has said in the playground at school.

My argument is not that I want to protect my boy from hearing the eff word or from hearing anything offensive, but that I do not want him to hear it in a way that makes him think it is a valid way to behave, speak or act.
Your last line is sadly so true, everyone else is to blame and this is why things do not change as people point blank refuse to turn their insight inwards.

he's a big bloke who beats other big blokes up for a living. expecting him to come out with nuggets of wisdom to help nurture your kids is a bit silly. maybe get your kids to listen to people of proven intellectual merit if you're looking for role models?tobyh5 wrote:Superb. I am now open to that because I do not like a man in a position of influence making statements that are offensive but according to you, they are just different views. I am in the wrong because I do want my children to hear that women should be on their backs or in the kitchen? for the record plenty of people are against homosexuality but its one of those subjects that people like you have tried to get a stranglehold on and say there are no other acceptable viewpoints. its boring.
give fury a break
