Shocking September for Eddie

Post by Floydendizer »

Eddie will be glad to see the back of this month , 4 world title defeats on the spin think he's only got Bellew / Joshua left that can headline a show . With Degale /Selby not under his control and McDonnell not a headline act can't wait to see the plan for sky shows this season , he was only spouting last month about every show headlined with a world title fight looks like they're will be a lot of fighters challenging this season 4 world title defeats out of 4 and we're still in September , it will be interesting how his record carries on this season .

He was hoping that most shows will have a word title going forward and most will in the next couple of months but that's not the be all or end all, good fight are the main thing and he'd had a far better year then last year which was shocking for his normal sky shows. Going forward he has a large enough stable to put on decent show s with or without a world title. Don't get me wrong I'm no fanboy I think he's a prick but matchtoom are still im very good shape and at the top level loses will happen but aren't always the end of the world

Doubt he is bothered

Hee knew Brook was getting battered but the money was too much to turn down

Edwards is a flyweight so there is barely any fights there anyway so why not rol the dice

Crolla is in a purple patch and he would have known the quality of Linares

Hall is filler at this stage of career, doubt Hearn lost a wink of sleep on that one

Far as AJ is still around he is laughing

Brook at least still has his belt should he want to go back down and Eddie made a lot of money out of the fight.
Crolla seems likes he can get another re match so more money for Eddie.
Edwards was never going to win and looks like it was a favour that Eddie can maybe get returned in the future.
Hall was needed to fill in the Brook undercard and was arguably unlucky to lose but at his age I don't think Eddie will lose to much sleep over.
I wouldnt mind swapping my septemeber with him

It's not like any of them were upset - they were all the underdogs in their fights. I'd much rather watch Hearn's 'world champions' face top opposition instead of the usual knockover defences.

I agree. Hearn's guys losing like this is reflective of them being matched tough...which I like to see.

It's nice to have the occasional 'haha Eddie' moment, but if he really is seriously bothered by his fighters losing it's not good for us in the long-run.

If you want to be a "World Champion" you have to fight world class fighters otherwise there is no point.

Agreed. If you aim high and make matches where your fighter isn't a massive favourite, you will have losses. Despite what the tv companies have been trying to make us believe for years, unbeaten records are meaningless if you haven't fought challenging opposition.

I doubt he will be kept on. I thought before the fight that if Haskins won he would be signed by Matchroom as he could be used to add a cheap (relatively) World title fight to the PPV undercards. Judging by Hearns comments since the fight I think my pre fight prediction is wrong tho.
