WBA interim champion Luis "King Kong" Ortiz (25-0), who recently broke away from former co-promoter Golden Boy Promotions, is willing and able to step in and face Klitschko for the vacant full title. The WBA is in the process of consolidating its belt holders and had previously ordered Ortiz to face Alexander Ustinov. The potential Klitschko-Ortiz fight could speed up the process. Ortiz and his manager Jay Jimenez are not only confident that they would defeat the Ukrainian but that they would likely end his career. "Hey Klitschko, I'm ready for you! Don't postpone your date because I'm ready to hand you an ass whooping in October," Ortiz told BS.com. "King Kong is ready for Klitschko. He is next in line and we are ready for any of the top heavyweights. Line them up and watch 'King Kong Career Killer Ortiz' KO them all," said Jimenez.

Can Ortiz knock out Klit? Yes
Will Ortiz knock out Klit? Yes
But Wlad is more likely to fight Joshua instead for way more $$$$$$. Which is fine by me.

I thought Joshua is going to fight Parker in november. I definately want Ortiz to fight Klitschko. I've been a long-time fan of Wlad but i really want Ortiz to get this big opportunity before he gets too old. He is 37 and he needs to get to fight Wlad, defeat him,and then fight the winner of the Joshua-Parker showdown, which is hopefully going to happen in november. I really think Ortiz will win against Wlad. Likely by a UD or maybe even late round tko. Joshua-Parker is so hard to predict. Something tells me Parker will be winning for awhile and then Joshua will land a home-run punch around the 8th round. So i see Ortiz and Joshua eventually and that will be awesome. I think Ortiz will win in that one as well, but it would be a really interesting and fun-filled fight no doubt.

Ortiz would crush Wlad, no final bell needed. They should just ring the bell for the first round then sell it on eBay or something.AngryGoon38 wrote:I thought Joshua is going to fight Parker in november. Yeah, well basically i can see that happening as well, especially with Wlad being 40 and Ortiz definately having the size and the abilities.
I definately Dig Ortiz quite a bit,and i'd feel really bad for him if Wlad decides to duck him and fight Joshua instead. I think Wlad would lose against Joshua as well at this point in his carear though, but against Ortiz,it would definately make for an exciting fight while it lasts. But against Joshua,i could see Wlad doing alot of extra clinching tactics, but i think Ortiz would have too many tricks of his own for Wlad's clinching stuff to work effectively. I think Wlad would go the distance against Joshua and lose and it'd be a bore-fest of excessive clinching by Wlad of course, but against Ortiz,Yeah i see Luis finding the spots and peppering up Wlad and likely tko'ing him,or at least putting on a serious clinic and winning a landslide of a UD.

Chances of Klit responding: 0%. He knows he'd get layed out.

Ortiz will walk into a fight ending right hand if the fight is made. Wlad won't have to track Ortiz down as Ortiz will come forward.

Klitschko KO 7. Ortiz will literally not know what hit him. Although a good fighter, he's so overated on this forum.

Not slating Ortiz fighting style, but he really is overrated here.. No disrespect, it's not his fault no one will fight him. If it wasn't for this WBA tournament, he'd never get a chance to fight big names.
Re: Luis Ortiz To Klitschko: I'll Replace Fury, Whoop Your Ass on 10/29
Let's get them in the ring and find out who is more overrated. I am not convinced that Ortiz would win but he definitely has the power to ktfo WKlit, and vice versa.Ruthless-RKO wrote:Loki wrote:Klitschko KO 7. Ortiz will literally not know what hit him. I don't think anyone can say Wlad is overrated. He's beaten everyone that came through the HW divisiom from 2005-2015.. But like yu said, only one way to find out who'd knock who out..Tanzio wrote:Let's get them in the ring and find out who is more overrated. Whoever gets ktfo is overrated by about half of those on here.Ruthless-RKO wrote:I don't think anyone can say Wlad is overrated. No money in this fight...so it will not happened.
Ortiz is crowned as Best Ever only by some weirdos in this forum...outside no one knows who he is! So no one will pay to watch it in Germany or in any other place.
And considering the unknown situation with Ortiz's management issues...why should Klitchko get to this mess...
Somehow I believe Klitchko will not fight anymore....

Ortiz isn't overrated. Would he beat Wlad? I don't know but he's up there with the best in the division.

Yes, because he's unbeaten, he holds the Interim World title, he has a strong amateur background, his best wins are Jennings and Thompson. Yes, he's up there but people overrate him as far as saying he can wipe the division..lefty wrote:Ortiz isn't overrated. Would he beat Wlad? What's to say he couldn't though? Obviously boxing maths doesn't mean much but he beat Jennings in far better fashion than Klitschko.Ruthless-RKO wrote:Yes, because he's unbeaten, he holds the Interim World title, he has a strong amateur background, his best wins are Jennings and Thompson. Who would you say beats Ortiz at heavyweight?

But seriously, Ortiz looks pretty damn good (though somewhat slow and a bit lazy in the ring), but he's get to get a move on with things. I think he'd have a great chance of beating today's shopworn Wlad and this would be a great opportunity for him if he could land it. I notice that Wlad and Parker are the top two guys with the WBO though, and if that belt is vacated I'd imagine Wlad would see that as a less dangerous and probably more lucrative path to regaining a title.

Is Ortiz still the interim, regular, homicidal WBA champ? Looks like Wlad wants to somehow fight for all the vacant belts at once. 10/29 doesn't seem likely, not the proper venue where the fury fight was booked.

It's hard to even say, i'm not doubting him, southpaws are tricky, he has a powerful left shot. I could very well see Wlad beat Ortiz, but I can see it the other way too, I think Haye would could outbox him too. AJ, Wilder, Povetkin, Fury would all give him problems. But hey, that's my opinion. Doubt we'll ever see.lefty wrote:What's to say he couldn't though? Ortiz would have beaten any version of wlad.
He would have been wlad's best ever opponent. By far.

It's a shame we'll never see it.. Ortiz is unknown. GBP was his best chance, fighting ok the undercard of Canelo-Smith would have helped him also.Riddick Blowe wrote:Ortiz would have beaten any version of wlad.

Re: Luis Ortiz To Klitschko: I'll Replace Fury, Whoop Your Ass on 10/29
Ridiculous comment. By that logic, Ortiz should've ruled the division for a decade. He's a top 10 fighter, but loses as soon as he steps into the ring with anyone who can box and hit real hard. A boxer/puncher.Riddick Blowe wrote:Ortiz would have beaten any version of wlad.

He doesn't beat Wlad, Joshua, Povetkin, Wilder or Fury. He's just too slow. I'd argue that him against Parker is a 50/50 fight. Plus, he's probably older than Wlad.
