Gave the fourth to Evans. Towell on the front foot but the better work came from Evans. When Towells pace drops Evans looks the better technician.

All over. Towell way too easy to hit and Evans not a big puncher.

Good little fight.

Towell stopped. Evans well deserved the win. Towell looked in a bad way afterwards. I wouldn't have let him continue after the first knockdown in the 5th. He was a sitting duck. Good fight :TU:

Evans does have a big punch.
I tried telling the jocks on here 12 months ago that Towell didnt cut the mustard.

fair play to Dale Evans though the fight was turning in Towells favour. Not sure of the stats but Towell definitely looks more to have more range I dont know why he started like that,he could have broke Evans down behind the jab and probably stopped him late on.

Not a big puncher on paper but he looked like he has a bit of a dig. As soon as the pace dropped from Towell you could tell who the better boxer was. Excellent fight though. Looking forward to more of the same on STV. Hopefully a few more young Scottish guys will take the chance and step up. Far too many are happy fighting journeymen again and again.

That's the first I've seen Towell and I wasn't too impressed. Good coming forward but Evans was too crafty. He held when he had to but countered well and his class showed.

Nice win for Evans....I recall thinking that he deserved to win Prizefighter over Foot. He had him hurt with body shots in that fight and dropped Eggington, so he does have some pop even though his stoppage ratio is low.

He might have had a reach advantage but he isn't good enough to go in there and outbox Evans, so he had to try and put it on him but he couldn't sustain the intensity needed to keep Evans quiet. Even when he was on the front foot he was still fairly wild, against journeymen that will be enough to put them away, but stepping up against fighters like Evans he'll end up missing alot and getting countered, if he'd ended up in with Skeete it would have been a massacre.

He did your right I'm being a bit unfair cos he dropped Eggington with a fcukin peach of a shot too.

Hope Towells ok.

Yeah think he should be (touch wood). He's exciting enough to watch I'll give him that much. Has to get behind the jab and use educated pressure though. If he was to concentrate on the basics and matures a bit and finds the right temprement he could come again. A lot of work needed but I'd like to see him again. I don't fancy Evans chances against Skeete if that happens but I hope he gets his shot after Foot.

Towell recovered well after the KD in the 1st,not sure if Evans forearm caught him? Towell then battered Evans next 2 rounds but you felt Dale was always dangerous if Mike got sloppy then sure enough Evans tagged him,Towell was gone, probably should have got stopped there and then really

I hope Mike's OK :salut:

A huge step up for Towell, fighting a guy in the British title mix after only knocking over tomato cans.
Brave matchmaking.
