Rumours are flying all over the place.. I think we should all pray for a miracle until anything official is announced.. His family need everyone's support and I hope as a boxing community we all support them

Thoughts are with Mike and his family and team and also with Dale Evans. I was reading reports of the fight last night. I had no idea it has become that serious.

I'm gutted.

Watched this last night and it leaves me sick to my stomach knowing what has happened.

I thought he should have been stopped after the 1st knock down in round 5, he didn't look right at all.
Home fighter or not the boxer safety has to come first.

Been an awful year for Victor Loughlin too.

Tragic for all involved :verysad:

Used to think it was urban legend that Peter Martin's real name was Peter McGuire and he just pretended to be Martin to Downplay to appear more neutral. Then a few years ago I was sent to his house to do work and it was under McGuire- he also had signed Celtic jerseys in his hallway and a portrait of Jock Stein in his bedroom.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Praying for the guy and his family!

Apart from the Celtic pish it's nice from what I remember. Big house in dalziel park.

Ive been hearing all sorts of rumours all day so i'll leave posting what i last heard but i really do wish he pulls through, ive met him a few times at various boxing shows and he's always been sound,my dad was sponsoring fighters at a show last year and we were at the next table from Mike and he spoke about his upcoming fight with Dickson etc,he seemed to have high hopes for his career, its just a tragedy

I was saying after the 1st KD in the 5th for the ref to wave it off as clearly Towell was still reeling and Evans was gonna put him over with the 1st clean punch

My thoughts are with Evans as well,he must be devastated

Agree with all that. I thought the same and said so earlier in the thread. He was a sitting duck. I didn't think it would've came to this though. I don't always pray but I'll spare one for Mikey and his family! Must be going through hell just now.

Absolutely terrible news. I heard from another trainer a few hours ago that this was the case and didn't want to believe it. Don't know what to say! Thoughts and prayers to Mikes Family and friends. RIP. Proper warrior.
