I like Clev and have never really been a fan of the highly protected Braehmer. Clev was the first good opponent he'd faced in years, and probably the best he'd ever faced, and I'm not at all surprised that he retired in the corner after Clev took his shots and kept coming.

Braehmer was much better than Cleverly tonight.

However, pulling out like that raises some questions.

I don't think it's fair to jump to a conclusion and say that Braehmer was on his way out and was breaking down. He was happy to stand in the pocket with Cleverly - he was deciding to do that and getting the better of it by a long way. So it strikes me as anti-Braehmer/pro-Clev bias to say that Braehmer was on his way out.

He did quit though. But I tend to believe that he was injured. I had him winning most of the rounds and he didn''t look like he was wilting at all to me. He took his foot off the gas for sure but it's ridiculous to assume that is because he was wilting when it could have been from the injury.

If he wasn't winning the fight clearly and to be fair - pretty comfortably, then I'd see it but due to how the fight was going, I think Braehmer genuinely was injured and Clev caught a very lucky break.

Much better? Not at all.....JB was winning rounds by small margins and getting hit plenty. It was highly competitive and hardly like some 6-0 masterclass, which is the type of thing youd really see if one fighter was much better.

Incidentally, I posted that he looked to be feeling it right before he pulled out, so I don't just say that he was fading in hindsight.

Clev should win the rematch too if it happens.

I thought he was winning the rounds quite clearly mate. Cleverly looked a bit hurt at one stage too and didn't look to be taking the punches that well, as was pointed out in commentary. Didn't look like there was all that much power on Cleverlys shots either.

If anyone looked like they were getting stopped it was Cleverly to me.

Pleased for Cleverly but I think this WBA 'regular' title just about sums him up. I can't see him mixing with the top guys at LHW. The weakest proper champ is Stevenson and I'd strongly fancy Stevenson to stop Nathan. He's just so easy to hit. Good night tonight but a rematch and/or some soft defences is about as good as it'll get for him.

Yeah I f**king hate Stevenson but he would probably smash Cleverly.

Braehmers southpaw left hand found the target a few times last night and whilst Stevenson is declining he won't lose power in that shot.

I'm liking this rematch.

Both fighters got on with it and traded. I had Bradhmer winning but the obv question we want answered is what happens down the stretch. To me it's fascinating as though Clev is the younger fighter I think Braehmer was landing the more damaging blows.

The Compubox stats had Braemer ahead on punches landed stats.

I think Braehmer's going to have to do a similar plan to the first fight in that he needs to be trying to really knock the energy out of Cleverly, as if it's a chess match Cleverly could be running rings around him come the final few rounds. You have go to think that Braehmer can't be a well preserved 38 year old (done prison time).

You sir are an idiot. The plan was always to make JB work hard in the first 6 rounds and break him which is exactly what happened. There was very little wrong with the elbow which he was using fine all night afterwards (only put the ice pack on it when there was press or cameras around) He was taking left hooks to the body and winced a few times. He brought his elbow down to protect his body and one punch hit his elbow. Dead elbow worse case. Look at NC during the Fonfara fight - thats how not to quit and JB knew he was going to get stopped. Go educate yourself and learn
