Exactly

They are ring-fencing a large chunk of today's elite level fighters for this bullshit project, and the vast majority of the cards have been sewage. It deserves every criticism it gets, can't wait for it to go officially bust.

What has HBO been doing with Kovalev?
What has GBP been doing with Canelo?

Why would you want the PBC to fold and not these other companies?

How old are you?
Do you really know Top Rank and HBO?

Bob Arum put it the best when he said that back in the day, despite all the politics and hatred him and Don King still got fights made. Sure there's all kinds of posturing and bs that goes on but Ward-Kov got made. Canelo-G will get made in May, hell even Pac-FM got made.

But pbc isn't just a stubborn promotional outfit like TR GBP Matchroom or even a TV network. It's a closed shop, a vanity project and a corrupt racket. How can you not see that? If all they guys left and went to TR and/or GBP then fights would get made.

I'm quite sure he's old enough to know that HBO isn't a boxing promoter. Pbc isn't legally, but we all know they are. HBO is a network with a moderate interest in boxing.

Judging by your satisfaction with Mayweather/Pacquiao you must have been born sometime in 2014.

ALL of the people who influence boxing suck. ALL.
At least the PBC sucked on free TV, whereas HBO fights suck behind a premium charge or unnecessary PPVs.

nobody with a three digit iq pays more than a couple of bucks to watch online anyway. How many times did you say fmj-pac would never happen? It was the toughest fight to make between promoters in recent history and like i said, it got made. Years later and a shit fight granted, so say it sucks i won't disagree but the bottom line is the fights get made cross promo and cross network. Guys in obc may aswell be in the ufc. A less successfull ufc that's just about bust with awful cards that noone watches

I love PBC. Don't care what all yinz say. They put on good FREE....did I mention FREE fights for average poor glubs like me to enjoy.
Why are all of y'all wanting them to go down the tubes? I hope they do great. PBC is great for boxing.

If I had an antenna with 3 channels it would be free. The best pbc cards are predominantly on spike. If you have an antenna you don't get them.

Nice, an article from 6 months ago. Can someone ask Tim why they have no cards scheduled and fighter after fighter just waiting around?

Going over old ground here, but sometimes boxing really kills the kid in us, the kid who remembers earlier years and only two champs, lol, and boxing really fucken kills that kid, and stamps the corpse in, and fucken sets it alight, and films it and posts it on our moms facebook page for lols. I was just listening to this bbc radio thing on the UFC, really hammers it home. Fucksakes.

4th October, 2016... and if you read the words contained within the article, such as the comments about the perceived lack of schedule, you surely would have known that. So it's a bit of s double whammy for you I'm afraid. And that's what you deserve when you comment on things you clearly don't read!

It's amusing that you tried to portray yourself as some sort of smart Alec, but it only ended up backfiring.

There was a lot of fluff in that article.

Basically he goes on about how unfair he thinks PBC is being treated, how people shouldn't care about what fighters get paid, and how we should all just wait to see what happens. There wasn't much substantial as to why PBC will succeed or what it plans to do, and while I understand his point about other sports, does a slow October really explain why so many PBC guys have 1 or 0 fights this year?

An answer like this doesn't sound very confident or convincing to me.
I asked him about what we could expect from PBC.

“I’m not involved with the scheduling and programming of fights," he stresses. "But most of those guys have promoters, who make them fights and find them dance partners. We are a television series, Al does manage fighters, that’s part of his management company. There are promoters that we work with, and they come to us and say we want to make a fight with this guy.

"I was reading this morning that Ricky Burns is trying to make a deal to fight Adrien Broner. How did that fight get made? I don’t know. How did that come about? And GGG is negotiating to fight Danny Jacobs. How did that fight come a

Yup, I'd love the pbc to succeed, it's just a different time. When I was growing up and great fights were on the network's college football was nothing! I remember a boxing telecast on ABC that tv guide had TBA...it was palomino/ benitez. Can you imagine that now?

I think that Tim Smith has made a valid point. A lot of people have prematurely jumped on the anti-PBC bandwagon from the get-go… and one of the main exponents of the PBC bankruptcy conspiracy theory was Dan Rafael, which led to people to jump to all sort of conclusions.

For the record, I have no idea about the PBC’s commercial viability, but I do believe that there is some justification to avoid assuming the worst until we have received official confirmation of their long-term plans.

If Tim Smith is correct… and the PBC continues to be in business by December 2017, then it’ll make a mockery of all the naysayers who expected to see the company fold by the close of play this year.

If I dreamed it I'd wake up crying that it was only a dream. It would be about on a par with the 4 or 5 dreams I had when I could suck my own cock.

"Danny Garcia will make his first defense of his WBC welterweight title on Nov. 12 on a PBC on Spike card"
The bout is viewed as a tune-up for Garcia’s eventual welterweight unification clash with fellow titleholder Keith Thurman that is targeted for the first quarter of 2017, a second source said.
