bet all those running down blackledge are sky nuthuggers. if you've been watching blackledge on bocksnation you'd know he has improved a lot and is a worthy opponent. sometimes its good to to open the curtains and have a look at the world outside.

In fact I'm shocked he hasn't fought for a world title yet, he'd beat Sturm and Jack.
I don't think his team have the confidence that he would beat those , otherwise the matches would have been made .

I'm not as high in Callum Smith as others but he would absolutely murder Felix Sturm. It's not as easy as 'just make those fights' when you are the challenger.

How good was Blackledge previously if the greatly improved version is having tough fights with people like Banjo Markham? I like Blackledge and he's a very solid fighter at a certain level, but this isn't it.

With Smith seemingly on the verge of moving up in levels for a title shot, I think he should be looking to get in rounds with better opposition.

markham is no mug though is he, he beat buglioni but didnt get the decision.

blackledge is solid, and people are really jumping the gun on callum. im sure luke will do better than rocky fielding. not saying he is the favourite but this is a good competitive fight and writing blackledge off seems a but unrealistic. :OhYes:

I'm not dissing Blackledge. He's a solid British level fighter, hell I'd even put him at Euro level. I just think Smith should be setting his sights higher to establish himself in the world title mix.

He's proven himself to be above Euro and Fringe world level by comfortably beating Sjekloca, Fielding, Mohoumadi and Rebrasse. He should really be looking at someone like Chudinov, N'Dam or Abraham or even a few of the fellow unbeaten prospects like Dunn and Zeuge.

If fast car can get Paul Smith multiple world title shots , I'm sure he could get one for Callum . He must be getting a little pi$$ed with the marking time fights .

The difference is the extremely deluded Paul Smith is nowhere near world class so the likes f Sturm would love to defend against him.

Callum might be world level we don't know for sure yet.

Luke is a better fighter than the Fielding loss makes him out to be.

Callum is naturally favourite of course, but Luke will do better than people think.

Gallagher fighters have a tendency to lose at world title level, so his fighters have lots of fights where they are massive favourites and then Gallagher can tell us what a great trainer he is.

True but say what you will about Hearn, he's usually pretty good at getting title shots for his fighters.

Blackledge is tough and moved on well since getting KO'd in a round by Fielding, picking up the Commonwealth title but he was down and shook up pretty bad against Dube in his last fight but he got the win,I think Smith will look to take him out early though, can't see Luke being able to withstand Callum's power shots, could see Blackledge getting creased early by a body shot
