I always said he'd never fight again after the Wlad fight (although admittedly I thought he'd get knocked out in that fight and retire straight afterwards).

Still, I don't believe a word he says, especially when he's ranting on Twitter, so we shall see.

Fury's not the most stable at the best of times but at the moment his head seems to be doing even his own head in. Desperately needs time away to sort himself out. He's in no condition to be making any long term decisions at the moment.

He should be commanded for doing this. Whether he sticks to it or not doest matter. This will help governing bodies decide on stripping him at once and the belts will be available for contention. Klitschko Joshua clash just got more likely.

I actually like him apart from when the dickishness goes into a higher gear....what possible sanctions might an alleged failed drugs test carry? I seem to remember Oakey getting his marching orders from the sport, no pun intended
Seems to me that there’s 2 stories going here, the depression and the allegation of a positive test for cocaine use. Which, if any, is real and which is a smokescreen?

He needs to go away, sort him himself out, get better, find something else to do - he was never going to be
boxing forever anyway, the day comes when you have to do something else, he might as well do it now - he has a
drug addiction which he needs to deal with.

I liked him, was good value, kept my ever waning interest for a little while longer - I wish him the best, it is the best thing for him - as Willie Pastrano said about being the champion 'It's scary being the champion because some really scary people are chasing after you and you can't get rid of them' (or something like that).

That is the golden point. He needs something to replace that structure of his day to day training - he is a bright guy, there are many avenues away from the spotlight he can partake. I remember reading about Norman Whiteside who studied and became a fully qualified physiopherapist after his footballing career - it would be nice to think he could channel his energies into something that constructive once he got himself sorted out.

I rather he didn't make a comeback in the future - no-one can stop him I suppose, but for now - he is doing the most sensible thing IMO.

I'm not convinced about him being that bright, he talks a lot, but little of it makes much sense, and it's the exception rather than the rule sportsmen finding a good profession after retirement.

I wish him the best; I do hope though that this business of him retiring isn't just a way of avoiding being stripped and wishful thinking that the testing will go away.
