Area level is a bit harsh. He was blowing everyone away at british level. He then ran into trouble trying to go beyond that level. He's better than area level though.Syntax Error wrote:Price is area level too.emallini wrote:Allen is area level. Price should be fighting at euro level or fringe world.
He's not daft: there's a reason why he isn't taking any risks at the moment.
Price v Allen

In all seriousness why the hell not.
Re: Price v Allen
Price has beaten at least 5 better men than Allen. Allen doesn't even have a win at area level. He drew with a journeyman and lost every round to Whyte. Pointless fight for Price who should be taking a decent fight now.

He isn't going to risk fighting someone with a pulse again, because he knows another defeat & he will be a regular fixture on Journeyman Street.
Surely he's got enough in him to beat the likes of Miller and Charr. Or at least people with better records than 30-25 or whatever that last clown he faced has.
Like, if he faced say a run of decent but easily beatable names like Charr, Washington, Scott and Miller he'd automatically be in title contention again. At the moment he's wasting time with scraps Hughie Fury wouldn't bother with.
He's trying to convince himself with all the calling out of Joshua, who has gone right past him in the reckoning, but deep down, I think Price knows the game is up for him & he's just trying to bag a title shot without risking himself too much.
Re: Price v Allen
I think he's pretty limited (not to mention obese), but I'd still expect him to KO Price.Taansend wrote:Why am I the only one who thinks Miller is half decentSyntax Error wrote:Price has no confidence in himself.tigermoth87 wrote:

Re: Price v Allen
Price when he was with Maloney looked unbeatable when they were building him up on journey men and imports but when he got kod that was the end and every fight after you knew if he got caught it's over.Dave Allen is a novice he only had a handful of amateur bouts and then same again imports but his first proper fight was white and in that fight you could see he was a novice and white is the same built up until Joshua fight and had his moments but Allen v Price is a good fight for Allen as he's nothing to lose if price gets beat it's all over in my opinion
Re: Price v Allen
Can't be mentioning Joshua's name when you want to give Allen only two week notice to box

Re: Price v Allen
Dave Allen keeps coming forward with a granite chin and pressure is something Price struggles with so I'd pick Allen for an upset in a mid rounds KO stoppage.

He might have a granite chin against C level fighters and White who was not throwing big punches. Price is a monster puncher, now 275 pounds. Anybody relying on a chin against him will get killed.london wrote:Dave Allen keeps coming forward with a granite chin and pressure is something Price struggles with so I'd pick Allen for an upset in a mid rounds KO stoppage.

He wouldn't beat Miller or Washington. Those guys are a level above him and always will be.tigermoth87 wrote:Syntax Error wrote:David Price knows his level.tigermoth87 wrote:Surely Price should be looking for bigger fish?
He hasn't beat even a top 50 opponent yet. His best win is arguably against a washed up Audley back in 2012...
Instead since getting KO'd by Thompson and Terper he keeps digging up East European builders to knock out. He should be looking at guys in the top 30, like Ruiz Jr, Miller... hell even someone like Charr.

If Malik Scott was a bug puncher he would be holding a strap right now.

Obvious Price was going to get derailed even in his short pomp days, didn't anyone see his amateur fights?
Re: Price v Allen
Frank/Kellie told him not to chase the rematch with Thompson didn't he?

Last guys record was 22-30 so 30-25 would actually be a bit of a step uptigermoth87 wrote:

Hearn said he is going to try and make the fight for the Joshua undercard now.
Apparently Allen is about 22 stone

I still hope it's Price fighting AJ though just for serious lols.
Re: Price v Allen
I wouldn't mind seeing Hammer-Price.
Hammer upset Price's conqueror Erkan Teper tonight, but he's not quite the puncher the Turk is (he couldn't stop that Junior Costa guy who everyone beats up), and would probably be less dangerous. It would also be a way for Price to indirectly avenge the Teper loss.
Probably still too risky and not lucrative enough from Price's cashing out out perspective though...I imagine that it will be more opponents like his last two.

Nobody can take his best shot.lillywhite14 wrote:People say Allen has a chin and some serious heart....that could well be enough to beat Price!
2/3 weeks notice for Allen? Remember the two days notice they gave Dallas? Should have seen the writing on the wall then.
I agree with the 'Price is trying to convince himself he still has it' talk. It's not a case of him blagging it either, I think he genuinely has talked himself in to believing he has a chance. Hes trying all kinds of methods, denial, weight gain etc
First time he gets hit back/someone takes his best shot, he's back to where he was unfortunately.

I'd strongly favour Hammer.crusader wrote:I wouldn't mind seeing Hammer-Price.

I like this fight actually, I can't see either of them winning. I guess Price will eventually win on points, but not with ease.
