Maybe not, but Chilemba and Pascal are actual light heavyweights and far better than tubby Paul Smith and Brand, who are nothing more than maybe top 30 fringe contenders at a lower weight. The last two at 168 are pretty comparable to Mohammed at 175, who of course never gave Kovalev an issue and was blown out early.

I agree....good fight

You can't tell someone with that resume they have something to prove.
It simply doesn't make sense.
What you are really saying is, please keep going until you lose.

PS - I think Ward was p4p #1 during one of Floyd's mini retirements.
Between Cotto and Guerrero I think.
Manny got laid out and Ward just destroyed Dawson ...
If my memory is right?
if you mean he was a partially unified champion or p4p best in the division I agree, he was not undisputed in the boxing definition of the word

I think Ward has lost his edge too. Loses vs Kovalev. Sergey is going to shock everyone and make this look easy. Watch.

Its going to be a great fight, and props to Ward for stepping up and facing Kovalev. Many thought he wouldn't go through with it.

IMO, the only chance Kovalev has to win is to seriously rock Ward, knock him down and possibly KO him. In my eyes Ward is a far superior boxer, with far superior defense, more ring intelligence, so I expect him to win a decision. Layoffs hurt, but Ward is fine and in his prime, so no excuses.

Kovalev is a very skilful fighter not just strong and brutish

But is he though? He's a great offensive fighter, but he's not on Ward's skill level. His power is the only thing that can win him this fight, one and only.

It will be funny to hear what you say after he smashes your skillful Ward.

What will you say if SOGgy disarms Krusher?

Honestly, you whine like b!tch in heat on here. "Ref is gonna cheat. Judges are gonna cheat. The west hates Russia. Ward is gonna cheat."

Go back to that hole that has been bestowed upon you by your dictator and continue your brainwashing regimen about how the USA and the west are the root of your problems, not the fact that as a people you are unable to operate your nation without an FSB totalitarian at the controls.

I like Krusher. He has an excellent chance in this fight due to his combination of power and skill. However, SOGgy is not a 50 year old GOAT or the Light Heavy Div's version of Carlos Molina.

SOGgy (given my nickname for him) has not been my favorite boxer as of late, but he has stepped up to face Krusher, and he deserves credit for that (if it actually comes to fruition). I get the feeling that if SOGgy does pull this off you will refuse to give him any credit. Rather, you will blame the ref, the judges, the west, cry fouls; anything to avoid the reality that he lost, and that you live in a "Daddy state."

Go reread your freshly printed books on how Stalin was a great leader who didn't incarcerate, starve, and murder tens of millions of his own people, dumbing down the population for herding purposes.

Between Cotto and Guerrero I think.

if you mean he was a partially unified champion or p4p best in the division I agree, he was not undisputed in the boxing definition of the word
So he wasn't undisputed at 168?

Agree. As much as I don't like SOGs style, he's a Calzaghe and has a style that adapts during fights. The inactively will certainly do him no favours, but we will see how he handles Kovalevs power and aggression. I wasn't impressed with The Krushers last performance, but perhaps it was to lull Ward into the fight.

50/50 IMO, but I lean towards Kovalev as I think he's naturally bigger and he's been active (SOGs inactivity).

It's always the sign of a great champion when people "oh, he's too scared to fight this guy" then when the champion outclasses them they dismiss said scary guy as "some bum".

Everyone said Sullivan Barrera was some bad ass and ward would be too scared to fight him. After ward dominated he became a bum.

lol wut?

Barrera was never talked up by more than a very small group. In fact, there was pretty much no talk of him prior to the Ward fight being signed, probably because only a year before he was still fighting on fairly minor cards against people like shot to shitt Jeff Lacy.

Big bad Barrera

It's no credit to Ward if he needs that kind of revisionist history to prop him up ("Everyone said Sullivan Barrera was some bad ass.") It's actually pretty simple: If he outclasses Kovalev, he's still great. (Something he hasn't exactly proved by returning to the ring every 36 months to fight somebody who doesn't matter.)

Kovalev wins a close dec I'm going with the more active fighter.
Ward is 32, isn't he? He has not taken much punishment either. Still in his prime by anyone's standard.
