Scotty Cardle vs Kevin Hooper

Post by handsofstone »

Cardle defending his British Lightweight title on the Burns undercard this friday,Cardle needs a good performance after the 2 Dodd fights,he deserves credit for turning the 1st fight around even though the stoppage was dubious but for even hurting Sean the way he did deserves kudos, the rematch however was a gift from the judges and i think most agree Dodd was robbed,Cardle's career so far has been up and down,he's still undefeated but has has his fair few of sub par performances so needs this win if he's any chance of moving on to European level

Hooper's a good little fighter coming off a win over Dingsdale,he got KO'd from Walsh which there's nothing wrong with as Liam is fringe world class and Kevin's other 2 defeats were close decisions to Sykes and Kays who are solid domestic level fighters so he could make this fight interesting if he takes the fight to Scotty as Dodd did

I imagine Cardle's quality will probably see him get the win though but i do fancy Hooper to last the distance and take rounds of him

Not that impressed with Cardle, he needs to show some form or he's going no higher than domestic level.

Don't know much about Hooper but his record suggests he is a solid domestic level fighter and from the few Cardle fights I have seen i would consider him to be roughly the same level.

Nicely matched bout on paper.

Don't rate Cardle at all. I'm surprised he's kept his 0 for so long to be honest.

He'd be a decent bounce back fight for Crolla tbh. A decent name with a solid record on paper to get a win under Crolla's belt and get the casuals interested in his next fight.

Can't stand the little prick! I hope Hooper relieves him of his title. He got a gift against Dodd and his attitude afterwards was rank rotten. Arrogant little wank!

His 0 will be lost soon enough.

He should have 2 losses on his record.

The issue is lightweight is pretty stacked with solid fighters so he won te able to get a belt beating no one world class like liam smith

Campbell hasn't been great recently but I'd fancy him to beat up Cardle easy enough. Same with Derry.

Not a fan of Cardle in and more so out of the ring following his pathetic comments pre and post the Dodd fights.
At the last fight Gallagher celebrated as if he'd won a world title not just got a very dodgy decision ! That result did the sport no favours and a third Dodd fight should have been ordered.

I'd like Hooper to win but I've seen him twice with losses to John Kays and Gary Sykes at a lower weight. In a division packed with talent He's obviously improved to get in a mandatory position but he strikes me as an ideal , almost handpicked opponent that Gallagher prefers.
Good luck Kevin .

Cardle should win this quite easily but he won't. He will make it as difficult for himself as possible and just scrape a decision.

He's a naturally talented guy but his performances have been getting worse and worse.

Gutted Ohara Davies has moved up would of loved to see him against Cardle.
