The reason why you do those things I imagine. Although a lot of people won't realise why they're doing it. I'm not saying that's what Tyson is doing, just that you can't say to some people to just stop doing drugs or stop drinking, it's not that easy for everyone.

For the record . . . I have always liked Fury. I think that he was great for boxing up to a few months after he defeated WKlit. I hope that he can pull his wires together and return to the scene, if he would like to and his health warrants it.

However, this whole scenario smacks of an undisciplined sociopath who is mitigating the consequences of his behavior by the means at his disposal. When in doubt play the mental health card.

I don't think id put it that strongly. I agree on your positive take on the early fury, I was there for his first 5 or 6 pro fight, bumped into him and shook his hand and said hello once, I have said on here several times that I find his shoot from the hip genuineness refreshing in the modern media trained age, his more supposedly extreme statements haven't bothered me too much in the past, I even agree with him that the reception for the Wlad win was sneery and underwhelming and slightly contemptuous and that he hasn't had the respect he deserves in the mainstream media for that win. I do think however there is now an element of buckpassing and refusal to own his own decisions.

When I say "it smacks of an undisciplined sociopath" it does not mean that I am convinced that he is a sociopath. I would need to deal with him on a semi daily basis to firmly determine if it is the case, as I do with the multiple sociopaths that I am acquainted with.

I agree that Fury did not get the credit he deserved for the WKlit win. It was an excellent performance, no matter WKlits circumstances. He had every right to pound his chest and proclaim the fact that he is the HW champion. He is the king of the hill. All others are pretenders. The division runs through him.

I'm very sceptical about the sudden onset of mental illness in Tyson.

He's failed two drug tests, can't seem to motivate himself to get in shape and has come to realize that he's not popular enough to fill a modestly sized arena even for a lineal heavyweight title fight. Feigning mental illness goes a long way towards extricating himself from the mess he finds himself in.

How does that going to extract him from anything. If he failed drag test then they are not going to forget about it

I can imagine Tyson failing a drag test actually. If a smoothie like Oscar struggled to pull off those fishnets, then a big stubbly lump like Tyson is going to find it difficult indeed.

In the wake of what happened to Mike Towell just a week ago it's pretty insensitive to say the least. There's plenty boxers I don't like but I don't wish any of em dead etc... There's a few I'd like to see get a sore face but that's another story and also par for the course.
