Fantasy matches : Riddick Bowe (1992) vs. current HWs ?

Post by ValMar »

Unfortunately, his prime was quite short. What do you think about his chances (1992, the first match against Holyfield) vs. present day HWs ?
I mean : Klitschko, Ortiz, Joshua, Wilder, Fury, Povetkin, Haye, Parker....

He would KO them all IMO. Of course, most of these guys are big punchers, so they would have had a puncher's chance, but only the slim one since Bowe was very tough and had really good chin.

Luis Ortiz would be the only fight that would give Bowe problems

Haven't seen enough of Joshua to know just how good he is or isn't. Especially when we're talking about this level. Parker I think would give him a tough go, but would ultimately be stopped late. Povetkin would be run over fairly easily. Haye would have early success with his speed, but I can't imagine he makes it more than 6 without getting taken out.

The current version of Klitschko would definitely get run over by Bowe, Luis Ortiz would give him a hard time but I doubt he'd have the stamina to beat him ultimately and would probably get stopped late. Wilder and Fury would both get knocked out inside 1 to 4 rounds.

Ortiz would be his biggest challenge provided he's in shape. It would be one heck of a fight, very tactical and brutal. 50/59

He probably decisions povetkin or stops him late.

We haven't seen enough of joshua, he hasn't been challenged or hit enough. He definitely has a punchers chance.

The rest get splattered.
