Was Holmes hurt at all from this knockdown? I remember Lyle-Issac, and Issac hurt Ron a little if I remember correctly.

Re: L. Holmes vs Kevin Issac.
Holmes was knocked down in that fight -- but it's not relevant ... He turned pro that same year after a very short amateur career.. He didn't know what he was doing yet.. He easily stopped Issac in the next round, but he didn't fight anyone with a name until he fought Rodney Bobick 2 years later. Bobick had something like 40 fights but he was a punching bag. Holmes lit Bobick up like a Christmas tree. Holmes only weighed about 200 for Issac, but he was a natural born boxer who went 48-0.. Not too many do that -- or win 21 straight Heavyweight Championship fights in the process.
Take Wladimir Klitschko. He was knocked down and beaten by Ross Puritty after about 200 amateur fights and over 20 pro fights. WK still had a lot of rough edges. He still had a few when he was knocked out by Corrie Sanders about 20 fights later. But he was very smart and switched trainers. The fact is, most boxers are trained by guys who are so inept that they practically teach themselves how to box. They watch other guys box and they try to copy what they see. Everybody has a different piece of advice for them and eventually they learn how to box half assed if they can absorb enough punishment in the process. A lot of what many guys learn is how to grab, wrestle, hold, push, butt, and brawl. Nobody purposely sets out to fight that way, but it's sheer desperation. They get hammered freely and they have to try something to stop getting hit so much.
Joe Louis was one of the lucky ones. Blackburn was one of the best trainers ever. Louis was so raw that Blackburn was reluctant to train him, but less than a year later Louis was the best Heavyweight in the world. Louis still had a flaw, but he destroyed Carnera and Baer so easily it was ridiculous about a year into his career.

If someone was going to lie about something, wouldn't it be more substantial than owning a tape of Holmes-Isaac? You know something like porking Kate Upton.

You would think. I mean, I have thousands of DVDs. I'm not a collector so I could be mistaken if it's some holy grail to collectors. Certainly wasn't a lie to look cool. If I ever come across it I'll post a screen shot to clear my good name!Tony1244 wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Lolbadkatt wrote: why say you have it when you dont have it bro ...........u do not have larry holmes v kevin issac so why lie about it
