Agree. Normally, I am trying to not quote the mfer, but sometimes I forget who we are dealing with and mistakenly slip to quoting.

Jacobs should take what he gets he's dodged this fight long enough Team GGG and the WBA have been nice enough to let him MAKE good money against Mora TWICE and ONCE against Quillin while PRETENDING to be the CHAMP  :shame: enoughs enough take it or leave it

Lol even though it's the way it is in boxing at the moment, I can't help but agree. This needs to happen now. If only he could patent his name, he would make more money from people using it than from actually boxing.

I'm assuming that Jacobs vacates his worthless regular title and Golovkin and himself both engage in meaningless bouts against cab drivers instead.

Loeffler played the game and got his own way.

The only reason for Jacobs vacating would be losing his balls. I am sure that Loefler offers him more than he deserves which has been the case with all GGG opponents in the last 5 years.

You are right about one thing: Danny's paper belt is worthless.

For all I know, you could be right, but if Jacobs petitioned the WBA for only a 40% cut of the total fight purse… and we know for certain that the average high-profile GGG opponent earns more than that percentage, then Loeffler must have offered him a lower split... or a sum that was less than he thought he was worth.

I’m not proposing that K2 is protecting Golovkin and I refuse to believe that Jacobs was ducking, so perhaps something bigger is going on… such as the frosty relationship that HBO has with Haymon (and vice versa)?

Maybe it was one of those situations, like Kovalev and Stevenson, where two pugilists from opposing sides of the proverbial “street” will simply never face each other for political reasons.

Today is the day they have to come to an agreement before a purse bid is called on the 22nd right?

Any day before the 22nd could become the day.

Jacobs just wants more than he is worth. Once again, 40% of $5 mil is $2 mil, while he wants more. The reason they were pushing for 40% is that they were hoping a winning bid to be higher than $5-6 mil. Now, in order to get even $2.5 mil, the purse bid has to be $12.5 mil which is unrealistic, so Jacobs needs to take Loefler's offer or Haymon needs to find more than $12 mil, 10 of which would go to Golovkin. Their only hope in the latter scenario is that Golovkin can't fight off HBO, but I hope there is a way for him to get an exception.

In a lot of different articles I've seen its been said that they have to come to an agreement by Wednesday and if not a purse bid will be called in 10 days time. It's kind of confusing if what you're saying is right.

As with previous cases of trying to consolidate belts.

When a fight flat out refuses ( in this case Jacobs)

The WBA (instead of getting rid of the belt ) will do nothing and they will keep their respective belts.

That 'regular' title means nothing. It's all about Jacob's good win over Quillin that makes him an worthy opponent for GGG.

After a purse bid is scheduled, they can still agree any time before the bid happens.

I really can’t see Jacobs’ Team accepting Loeffler’s terms, especially considering the K2 chief recommended that the WBA proceed straight to purse bid.

If Danny doesn’t want to take less than 40%, then he won’t agree to take the fight and he’ll likely vacate his meaningless WBA regular title… the very same worthless belt that GGG held for more than three years.

However, there is an alternative scenario that could play out, which is Haymon outbidding K2 for the right to promote and televise the fight.

If this comes to fruition, then we could see GGG dropping his title, instead of the other way around.

As a GGG fan through and through, I actually have a little issue with how GGG is handling this negotiation. GGG has been outspoken about getting bigger fights against the best boxers and how money isn't the most important factor. If he really means what he says then he's got to give in a little with this purse bid. 75/25 split is fine in a normal title defense but this is a big fight. The fight is slated to be held in NYC and Jacobs fans will fill up that arena so it's not like Jacobs is not bringing anything to the table. Plus Jacobs has a belt, a pathetic belt that WBA is getting rid of completely but it's not like it's a normal champion vs contender type of fight.

My opinion is that this fight gets made if GGG agrees to a 65/35 split. So if this fight does not get made because GGG stood his ground on his 75% take then he should get the criticism and i'll be right there knocking him for it. Boxing needs this fight to happen.

They are not offering Jacobs 25 or even 30 percent now. They are offering more. The problem is that there isn't enough money to satisfy Jacobs even at 40%. The 25/75 purse split bid was just needed for Golovkin's team to kill Haymon's desire to win that bid and to push Jacobs to accept whatever he is offered now.

Please post your sources, as it'll be interesting to know what's actually going on.

It seems that you're an insider possessing detailed inside knowledge of contract negotiations (quoting actual figures and percentages), but for some reason you refrain from posting any evidence to support your claims.

This isn't a criticism, but rather a question I've asked of you about this matter again and again, due to your insistence about the actual events taking place that aren't being reported by anyone in the media.

He is demanding an amount, not percent. We don't know what that is exactly. Originally, he was hinting at $3 mil.

Danny's belt means very little here; it's not like the Lemieux fight where David had a belt GGG could actually win.

Geale is done now and should probably retire.

Incidentally, Jacobs won his belt against an opponent whom Geale routed right after the GGG fight.
