Breidis vs Valilly - chances of an upset??
Bredis comes with a big reputation and is heavy odds on with the bookies but he doesn't really do anything special as a fighter. Valilly has been around a long time and it's a question of whether he can make the step up. From the footage I've seen It looks like Breidis will be coming forward with pressure and Valilly will try to outbox him and land his own big shots. On paper you wouldn't give Valilly much of a chance but hes got a relaxed style and could look like he's outboxing Breidis, the way the fight will be going. All depends on whether he can get Breidis respect and whether he can take Breidis shots but he's got a decent amateur pedigree and Breidis really doesn't look special to me. He's fought nobody of note barring Charr who was a world class journeyman. Durodola hasn't mastered the basics of the sport. I think Bredis is overhyped here.

I really rate Breidis. Can't see there being a upset.
I see this as a mismatch and I'm surprised it got sanctioned.
A guy unproven even at domestic level against a world level puncher.

At amateur level Vallilly was proven enough to be the best at commonwealth level and an ABA champ. He's also 31 now and been a pro for a number of years, it's not some young kid. Very inexperienced as a pro all the same.PredatorHayds wrote:I really rate Breidis. Can't see there being a upset.

Breidis is a world level puncher but I don't see too much else.

Classic overuse of the word 'journeyman.'
Journeymen don't fight for World titles.

He was jailed last year, which obviously hasn't helped.

It's a very strange matchup
Re: Breidis vs Valilly - chances of an upset??
I dont know if Breidis should be the one whose opposition is criticized when only one of Vallily's opponents had a winning record (4-3 then, now 6-7 and #297 on BoxRec ). It also surprises me that an amateur standout like Vallily has scored so few stoppages at such a low level.
He does have some skill though and the short distance could help him (a slow start frm Bredis and a generous round to Vallily may be all it takes to make it close), but to me Breidis looks to be the superior fighter and should be a comfortable favorite.
How long was Vallily jailed for?

Perhaps a bit oddly, this was the fight I was looking forward to most on the card. Hadn't seen Breidis live before, so was interested to see how he performed, and thought it was gutsy and ambitious of Valilly to take the fight. Wish more fighters were willing to take the odd chance like this rather than protecting their 0 against fighters with losing records.

I missed it, but caught a replay. I do like Breidis. Something about him, maybe just the raw power he seems to carry. Like to see him in on undercards as he seems to be popular considering he's a relative unknown.
