GGG by far and away, the best all around boxer in the world.

I hate to be pedantic, but doesn’t the title of the thread refer to the “most skilful” boxer, not necessarily the best.

Whilst there’s a genuine argument for Golovkin being considered amongst the top three pound-for-pounders, it’s because of his all-round abilities, which includes his enormous punching power and robust chin.

In terms of considering sheer boxing skill alone, as in the only factor under discussion, GGG shouldn’t be the top five. Hell, for some people, he may not even make the top ten.

I’ll give you an example of the topic under discussion, in his prime, Paulie Malignaggi was considered a highly skilled fighter, but not only did he float like a butterfly, unfortunately he stung like one too, which limited his potential significantly. So basically, we're talking about skill alone - not all-round ability.

Also, Anthony Joshua rated eighth, seriously? Did you see the Breazeale and the Whyte fights? For sure, he’s one of the best heavyweights and possesses enormous potential, but there’s no fúckíng way on this earth is he the eighth most skilful boxer pound-for-pound on the planet… that’s just hideously deluded!

Well now the word "skillful" is subjective isn't it? In your world, skillful means scientific boxer (aka someone that can only jab if you are referencing Malignaggi). In my world, a "skillful" boxer is someone that has a large toolbox of skills (aka a plan b, c, d, e & f) in there.

We've seen many styles go up against him and he's had an answer for every one of them and each answer wasn't the same. He's not just knocking people out with one punch. It's mostly an accumulation of punishment by his tremendous skill level and gameplay inside the ring. You aren't watching boxing much if you think this guy isn't skilled.

I think that Joshua is the most skilled heavyweight in the world right now. He's also going to be boxing next biggest star once he grabs all of the belts so I think that's worth a top 10 list now and in the future.

So i guess there needs to be some discussion about what skillful really means.

You're right about GGG. He gets the job done very effectively -- particularly with his stance, jab, footwork, and timing. Great boxing skills get great results because they're effective.. Paulie Malignaggi's problems didn't stop with his lack of punching power.. Paulie was out-jabbed by Ricky Hatton of all people -- and Hatton actually timed Malignaggi's jab and got him with right hand counters, something RH wasn't good at. Paulie's jab was readable. Floyd Sr. actually told Hatton, "We're going to outbox Paulie. This kid does not box good." In his next fight after that Hatton was out-scored 4/1 by Pacquiao. That's a good number. Pac was not as unskilled a boxer as a lot of people think. At his best Pac could school people like Hatton.

The most skillful boxer is Lomachenko -- not followed by Rigondeaux who has been floored several times... Ward, Golovkin, Usyk, Joshua, Crawford, Kovalev, Ortiz, and maybe a couple others are better than Rigo right now.. And Chocolatito didn't impress me in his last 2 fights -- his jab was out to lunch and he was taking unnecessary punishment. Roman G. is real active, but he's not looking super sharp -- and he's about tied with Rigondeaux who's not getting enough fights to keep him sharp either.. That's not Rigo's fault, that's Boxing's fault ... But that's reality.
