There just aren't enough hardcore boxing fans willing/able to pay an extra monthly subscription to make the model work.

You either have to:
1. Have a near monopoly on all the "big" fights, making the subscription worth it to the casual audience
2. Go free-to-air (or included as part of Sky/Virgin etc) and do the occasional PPV

Lack of international coverage.
The refusal to acknowledge that any fight that Sky don't show is relevant or even happening.
Under cards and generally main events full of home fighters getting walkovers against sub standard opposition.
The continual drive to test the public boundaries of acceptability and what they can get away with whilst still charging PPV.
The commentators who follow the party line and say what their paymasters tell them to say.
The insults to the intelligence when they pretend fights are going to be 50/50
The exploitation of the casual fans lack of knowledge and ignoring of anyone with half a clue about boxing.

I think the guy is either new to the sport ( nothing wrong with that ) or brainwashed by the sales men over at Sky.

If we want to watch world class boxing from around the world on an almost weekly basis it's BN that have it. I find Bunces no nonesense approch and shite jokes keep me awake till the small hours to

Been a subscriber since the beginning.

International stuff is still brilliant overall but I agree that the domestic cards have been few and far between. I think I can justify the £12 for now but there needs to be some improvement going forward.

I'm a subscriber to BN and have been since day one. I even had another subscription for my laptop when I worked down south. If it goes tits up I'll be gutted but I'm sure someone else will step in. It won't be the same as we won't be getting full cards and whoever takes it on will probably pick and choose what fights they show. That might force Frank to get his finger out!

I were surprise that allegedly lasted so long. I just thought it happened too early. With the Internet and many broadcasting options I believe it will change to a PPV model for almost all broadcasts. The consumer will pay for what they want to see, rather than having to subscribe to an actual channel. Look at sky, you can get a Now TV pass If you want a specific event. I mean given the option, why would a pure boxing fan want to pay monthly £25 for a channel (sky sports) that shows very little boxing? And all the big fights are on PPV? It's not sustainable especially when you can, if you know how, get a free stream / kodi.

It's not been up to its previous standard in recent months. But if someone had told me in the early 1990s that 20-odd years later there would be a dedicated boxing channel which I could get for £12 per month, I'd have thought that was fantastic. So I'm still pretty positive about it, and still prefer it to Sky.

But I agree with other posters that it is hard to see how that economic model can be sustained. For that reason, I wish Rainham Steel continuing prosperity...

Correct Naandrew. Sky Sports are the big boys, BT Sport are leading the rest of the pack. A tie-in between Bxntion and BT is the clear choice. Imagine if you got BN's content and sprinkled it into BT's schedules, you'd start wondering how on earth it existed as a dedicated channel.
Looks like BT have 3 main channels then 6 Extra ones. The network is on the rise, with many having it as part of their broadband package and other Sky subscribers paying extra for the football content. BT might even wait around for FW to retire and/or go bankrupt before dipping their toes into boxing. Then they're not tied down.

Barry McGuigan's Cyclone Promotions have a deal with Channel 5, and there's talk of something happening on ITV. This leaves a list of the following promoters:

• Hatton
  Hennessy
  PBC (Al Haymon)
  (doubtful) Kellie Maloney
  Hayemaker Promotions

Plus there are the fighters who are free agents or only loosely tied to promoters, such as Eubank Jr and Dave Allen. And the Olympic medallists Joshua Buatsi, Joe Joyce.

It seems to me that BT are shying away from boxing. They used to have a cracking little show every week presented by Dempsey and Woodall which showed extended highlights of allegedly's main weekend fight and then a bit of chit chat. It sunk without a trace.

That show with Dempsey, Woodall plus weekly guest was also aired on allegedly and I thought it was the highlight of the week.

Was gutted when it was axed.

Ive cancelled it. I think they need to get rid of bunce and lillis and have steedman and the younger journos in.a new studio. a new approach. Also they need more interesting filler. 1 boxing classic every 3 weeks doesn't cut it. the American 80s boxing shows cant be that expensive. They should use those as fillers.

Fights stateside are crap until Kovalev Ward which is now on Sky. How can October be a bad month in America ?? All down to Uncle Al and HBO.

If the channel does go under I just hope the international fights get picked up.
