HER dad was killed when she was only two. Her mum was taken by the drug scene. Is it any wonder Shannon O’Connell is such a fighter?

Shannon inked up and ready to go
Really good article about Shannon O'Connell :
http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/quee ... 94993fa692
“I want my children to have a better start than I had."
“After my father died, my family’s life fell apart. My mother was consumed with grief. She had come from a bad place, a bad childhood and she had been married – very unhappily – before my dad.
“In my eyes, my dad had been her saviour. They owned a house and he gave her and us a normal sort of suburban life. When he was taken away from her, my mother was just so lost that it was like she wasn’t human any more. There were suddenly a lot of drugs and a lot of bad people in our house, a lot of violence....”

and about here upcoming fight :
“The girl I’m fighting, she’s scary,” O’Connell says of Edina Kiss. “She’s dangerous, really dangerous. She’s had 10 fights this year and she comes out swinging. She throws really heavy, wild punches. I have to box smart against her and not turn it into a war. But that’s not easy. I turn a lot of my fights into wars.”
