In fairness they don't hide the fact it's a bit of panto. Adam Smith said in his fornicating strange voice " trust me the respect is there " Fast car said " they know how to sell fights and it's all hype for the fight "
I just laughed to be honest, it was funny . I'm going to put you and that a lily hair cutt to sleep , was funny.
I just try and enjoy it these days, it use to wind me but what's the point it's boxing these days and this sort of shit isn't going anywhere

The OP has it spot on, the post fight shenanigans were pure WWE
Bellew clearly didn't waste his time in Hollywood, his acting was far superior to Haye's who try as he might couldn't suppress a smile let alone make himself look angry as Bellew hammed it up
Sky and their boxing team are now mere conduits for Eddie Hearn to sell stupid non fights to the naive British public. I suppose the likes of Johnny Nelson, Paul Smith and the two presenters have to toe the line and pretend to believe the bullshit to earn a salary but Carl Froch who doesn't need the money should distance himself from such nonsense.

As embarrassing as it sounds I got a bit giddy last night despite knowing that Haye will spark Bellew in a round no doubt, Im actually a fan of Tony the boxer but Haye is too big and powerful, I'd like to see Bellew concentrate on the other cruiserweights out there coz he's gonna have to vacate
But as for the WWF panto theatrics, I loved it

Nelson almost restored a bit of respectability to proceedings when he said Flores basically took a dive and didn't want to be there!CaptainSpacerod wrote:The OP has it spot on, the post fight shenanigans were pure WWE

I don't buy that. BJ got hit by a clear low blow and IJL did his usual. Flores was firing back with punches pretty much until the end. He got hit hard and often, saying he took a dive is disrespectful. He came and he tried, but it wasn't enough.lillywhite14 wrote:Nelson almost restored a bit of respectability to proceedings when he said Flores basically took a dive and didn't want to be there!CaptainSpacerod wrote:The OP has it spot on, the post fight shenanigans were pure WWE

Re: Disgusting Conspiracy scam? Or real beef Bellew v Haye
That's a misrepresentation of what Johnny said. He was actually suggesting that Flores 'took' a dive after the first knockdown to 'job' the ref after the low blow. There was certainly no suggestion that we threw the fight; BJ went down swinging.

Why did nobody on the Sky team ask the deluded Bellew why he won't fight any of the world's top ten cruiserweights to help to justify his absurd claim to be the best in the world.
For me he's still at best a Euro level plodder

Re: Disgusting Conspiracy scam? Or real beef Bellew v Haye
I don't think it is, I think bellew is using it to try and sell a potential fight but he acts like a complete classless chav against every opponent. He winds himself up and starts acting like a Pratt all the time - look at his history. He got the part for the rocky movie off the back of it.BitPlayer wrote:Just showmanship and panto. Re: Disgusting Conspiracy scam? Or real beef Bellew v Haye
You're completely right, it's the same as Wilder vs that junky he fought last time. it's just a massive joke and also the reason why Haye avoids Briggs completely, there's a big risk in it for him. The wurm was also bribed according to many.forcefraser wrote:I know that modern day boxing is primarily about making as much money as possible for the least amount of effort/risk. It looks that way at least.
After watching Bellew last night I started to feel like a paranoid Yank. I convinced myself that what we were witnessing was a WWE style storyline playing out in front of me, with the sole purpose of two boxers getting in the ring with each other for millions of pounds.
Haye has admitted that he is back for the money fights, Bellew has said that all that matters to him is to get home to his family and secure their future (fair enough)
They have fabricated a "beef" knowing that it will be a pay per view fight and will secure them both millions. These two used to be friends. So what happened? Bellew would have to go through 4 or 5 camps and win 4 or 5 fights (hard ones if he is to remain as a credible champ) for the same money he could make against his ex mate David Haye.
Haye is becoming irrelevant, fighting nodobies and with no proper TV deal (money deal). this fight will make Haye millions.
the whole Floes being a mate of Haye, Haye saying Flores would win easily and then acting surprised when Bellew beat him "Tony is better than I thought and he carries real power". Was this just a not so elaborate plan to allow Bellew to act like a total bellend and start his ringside rant at Haye? It was all pre planned.
Fast Car is in on the whole thing of course. he stands to make millions, another Froch v Groves. Fast car smiling like he was surprised.
Haye and Bellew as a fight in itself should be a non starter. Haye would knock him into next week if he is fit and ready. How can they package this in as anything other than the lowest form of insult to a boxing fan?
I had my doubts over the Haye v Audley fight. I am sure I saw Haye tell Audley "I`m going to do it now" just before he blew him away. Two old mates making a killing on PPV.
I wonder if I am a paranoid old fool who sees conspiracy where there is none? But I think this fight has been planned ever since Haye`s first comeback fight.
The build up will be a total joke, dragging boxing through the shatfield. Bellew has 3 kids and is no doubt a loving father, but his behaviour last night was pathetic and an embarrasment to the sport. A worse role model in boxing you would look hard to find.
It`s a money game and these two fellas (plus shat eating grin Fast car) will do very well out of contriving a rivalry that does not exist.

There's no beef between these two.
The whole thing is a set-up to raise the profiles of both of them.

There is something you can do, not buy the ppv. It`s as simples as that"
Of course we don`t have to watch it, but not many people turn off the tv whilst they are already watching something happening.
You can`t tell me that Bellew hanging off the ropes screaming "you mother Fuucker" at Haye is good for the sport?
The blokes an arse of the highest order and the sooner he gets done and retires the better. All the talk about Lebedev and the other top boys after he beat Makubu and what does he do? Fight BJ Flores.
I hope he fights Anthony Joshua next to be fair. I hear Joshua once laughed at an Everton defeat and Blue Bomber took such umbrage with it he will smash him for it. Its as simples as dat.
Look i'm not a fan of this fight, nor do I find bellew particularly entertaining. But you guys give them the exact response they want with the online outrage. The fights already sold.
I'm not bothered by Bellews language. I wont be that bothered if this fight goes ahead. Like all fights, i will watch it online, for free.
Just pointing out boxing is getting pumped up the ass again, the grooming has begun, when Eddie feels the climax is close he will trigger another classic rape of the fans pockets....... then folks like Eddie and yourself will say they got what they wanted, not what they were given, they did not have to buy it, right?

Whilst in the cold light of day it may all be a bit tedious- Haye backing a past it Flores to do a job, Bellew slagging Haye for his lack of oppoents, Hearn talking about how angry Bellew is and demanding the Haye fight for the last 5 months... But anyone who says Bellew jumping out the ring WWE style is anything other than entertaining needs to have a quiet sit down in the corner.
The crowd loved it, Sky loved it and the people at home loved it.
Will I pay PPV for it though? Will I fornicate. Does Bellew have a chance? Does he fornicate.

Bellew's 'powaah' has improved at cruiser. I feel that this whole 'beef' thing is 50/50 - half to sell the fight and half 'temporary' but genuine dislike.
E.g. Whether or not chisora and Haye made up after the fight..... the violence at the klit press conference was clearly serious

Bellew was clearly taking the p*ss, anybody that can't comprehend that drank 1 to many last night. He was purposely overboard and having a bit of fun, but it's not like we hadn't been pre-warned.
I don't mind the fight, we have seen far worse and they arent disproportionately sized either which is always a bonus. I expect Haye to win as i think he carries not only the better power but the better hand speed and footwork to, but i do believe Tony can hurt him.
Also who can blame Bellew for this? would you rather take an unwinnable fight against Usyk or a marginally winnable fight against haye for 10X the money.

Fighting is the hardest game there is, so I begrudge no man his chance to make millions if he can. It`s when the machine around it, the infrastructure, tries to make it out to be something it isn`t that riles me.
Wonder how Sky will package this one? Or whether any of them have the balls to call it what it is. They must have short memories or Eddie really is that good of a salesman. I though Haye v Audley had scarred them for life. Apparently not.

Re: Disgusting Conspiracy scam? Or real beef Bellew v Haye
embarassing the sport, and from grown men too. only a proper mong would believe that crap last night was for real. hearn is turning the sport into an even bigger joke. yeah they make money from the intelectually challenged who will pay to see this shite, but they will turn loads of real boxing fans away from the sport in the process. im fed up of it, im not 11 years old and therefore i dont need this crap. yes im going to get a load of crap from some of u for this opinion but i will finish with this....if u wanna see a panto go and fckin buy some tickets for the local theatre and keep this crap away from the sport i love
Re: Disgusting Conspiracy scam? Or real beef Bellew v Haye
Is there anything more tedious than someone jumping around aggressively in the full knowledge that security will hold them back? Yawn. Reminiscent of the build up to Bellew-Cleverley II ("these two really don't like each other"), and what a tear-up that turned out to be.

The problem is that people keep stepping to him and we all know that means they will be going down. It`s what he does, it`s who he is. Strikes first and asks questions after. Believe you me, It`s a s simples as that.Lenny wrote:The Boomer can't walk down the street without needing to be held back from people.
I saw a tweet from the Boomer that simply read "We are SCOUSERS an we will continue to fight"
Love the Boomer.

As you say its been going on for a long long time, and its only getting worse. Its obviously not as simple as saying dont buy the PPV and the problem will be solved. Promoters know 50% of those serious fans that dont actually like the event will buy it anyway as its a night of boxing and they need a fix. The mainstream media will get drawn into the hype, as we see today many of the tabloids have run pieces on Bellew's post fight antics from last night, thus drumming up interest from the casuals, exactly what Eddie/Bellew/Haye are playing for, and the wheel it turns.

If I was Bellew and Haye was agreeable than a fight for no titles at catchweight could work. Haye only having to come Down a little in weight and they both make money and Bellew can defend his belts in his next fight. champions had non title fights years ago in the great days of boxing. Simple - get it on
Re: Disgusting Conspiracy scam? Or real beef Bellew v Haye
The way i look at it is boxings been going down the drain for years , occasionaly we have a good fight usually between two unknowns , but the main players , thev'e become circus acts . All refusing to fight anyone who can hit back , thev'e become masters at bullshit baffles brains , and King Eddie eggs them on he loves it,he gets to ring up Kugan and say you see it last night , crowds loved it , come round do an interview , and make me more famous , my fans are awaiting my response .
What do you do about it , Well don't get all upset for starters , its boxing , just a couple of steps up from wrestling now a days , Me i know what i do , I look at Bellend and think fornicating knob , then i don't watch him fight BJ simple has that ,i did'nt watch it , had no interest it is what it was , a joke of a fight , nothing more nothing less , some people may pay to watch shite , i just won't watch it , and WHEN he does fight Haye he will get stopped but earn a good payday . Will i watch it probably just to see Haye sparkle him ,, will i pay for it NO WAY i'll stream it , fornicate em i'm not giving these guys my hard earned , i had to work for mine , let them work for theres ,, Would you pay a plumber triple the normal hourly rate , and then watch him sit on his ass for 7 hours and work for one ,, answers no , so why pay a profesional fighter to be part of a circus act . Unfortunatly i think the same about most fights nowadays
