Joshua vs Wlad not happening according to Raphael

Post by Like a Boss »

According to Dan Raphael:

"I'm told by a good source there are issues closing Joshua vs. Klitschko so Klitschko is now also looking at another possible December fight".

Considering they've already got an interim champ in Ortiz, and a fight for the regularbelt between Browne and Oquendo, and the super champ just vacated, of course the super belt should be vacant. They should then let Ortiz fight the winner of Browne Oquendo for the regular belt, and ditch the interim one. Their whole plan wa based on them getting preferential treatment by the WBA.

Sounds like it was never going to happen. Load of fornicating shit.

Why would Wlad care so much about the WBA belt anyway?

Beacuse his % of purse will be bigger if it's unification fight than in the case if he is just a title challenger. But most likely scenario is that Eddie Hearn just tries to con us.

Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz would be easy for Eddie Hearn to make, and it's a fight we'd all like to see.

Why do y'all hate Price so much? Because Joshua - Price would just end in KO 1 with Price's career and life crashing to a halt.

Wlad fought Chagaev to unify the WBA belts, but the WBA just moved the belt over to Valuev instead. Then Wlad fought Haye to unify the WBA belts, then the WBA just moved the belt over to Povetkin instead. Then Wlad beat Povetkin, at which point, the WBA just put belts on Chagaev and Ortiz. There's no point in treating the WBA belt like it has any value, because every time you win the belt, they just give it to someone else.

I like Price, he just shouldn't be fighting for a world title, and he's so far from the step up that was suggested and Joshua should be taking.

If Price was fighting Whyte for the British title I'd say good luck to him, hope he does well.

Surely you must know that Wlad became the WBA 'Super' champion which freed up the WBA 'Regular' title.

Joshua has still not boxed a top rated fighter, so fighting David Price would be par for the course. Lets not forget that Joshua's IBF title reign has consisted of beating 2 fighters on a level with Price...

Yeah but that's not good enough, he needs to step up.

If next year is the same or worse than this year I'm probably done with this sport. I've always strongly preferred Boxing over MMA, but this sh*t is a joke at this point. I'll take Bellator over the recent string of garbage Boxing has been feeding us.

Naturally if I'd watch Bellator I'd watch the superior UFC.

I'm wth you on boxing though. I wish my passion for the sport wasn't what it is as it's depressing. Year after year, the same old garbage. It feels like you're constantly wishing your life away waiting on good fights.

Yep, and I for one am getting pretty damn sick of it. I'll never stop watching the sport altogether, but I'll probably reach a point in the near future where I only watch a handful of fights and fighters and ignore all the tune-ups and other horsesh*t going on in the sport.

It seems all the Boxing news you hear anymore is endless negotiations, cancellations and Political BS or outright ducking preventing fights from happening. You can count the fighters that are left in the sport who are willing to fight the best with no bullsh*t excuses on your two hands. This used to be a manly sport. I don't know how a sport where you get beat up for a living and get punched in the face got infiltrated by a bunch of chickensh*t cowards, but it has. Makes me sick when I hear these guys say 2 or 3 Million dollars isn't enough to fight so and so.

I'm just some schmo sitting in Louisiana, and if you gave me 100,000 dollars I'd fight literally anybody in this world. With or without a training camp.

Lol I get ya. The boxings news description is so apt aswell. It just seems to be the same old bullshit regurgitated time after time.

For instance if you use BS there always seems to be a million articles in the build up to a pacquaio fight by Ronny Nathanielz or whatever the hell his name is which are basically propaganda pieces talking about how Manny is looking incredible in sparring lighting everyone up OR if they're struggling to sell the fight he'll mix it up and say how Manny is suffering cramps in sparring.

You then have the never ending Canelo-Golovkin saga whereby you have Loeffler saying for the 20th time in 2 months or something how he's been on the phone to Erik Gomez looking into making the matchup in September 2017.

I'm sick to death of reading the same shit repeated week in, week out. Now I know it's my own fault for continuing to read it but hey I love boxing so I find myself drawn to it like a moth to a flame
