I'd imagine that he would start losing mass pretty fast once he stopped hitting weights and necking the extra calories.

I reckon given 3-4 months, he could get in under 200, maybe in even less time.

Wouldn't be surprised if he could do cruiser today.

I'd seen Haye quite close up in the past and didn't think he was particularly big until I actually spoke to him a few years ago. He is a big lad in the flesh. I'm not a giant or anything but I have shook hands with Taishan Dong, the big monster Chinese heavyweight, so I have met some of the biggest fighters out there. Haye ain't that small. I don't think he could do cruiser these days at all. Trust me: he's a heavyweight. I do think he's been a bit fat for his comeback and now he's lining up somebody half decent the weight will come off a bit.

I met Haye quite early in his career, when he was still making 190, I'm 6'3", and 14 stone when I'm trim, and aside from being broader shouldered, and obviously in better shape than me, he didn't look much bigger than me, certainly not compared to someone like Danny Williams, who has calves like a billiard table. He's gotten bigger, but the underlying body shape hasn't changed.

I remember someone who met Tyson describing his build, - and saying he was thickset, and 'even his teeth looked like a heavyweight's teeth.'

Haye hasn't a heavweights bone structure - he has the muscles these days, but those would atrophy pretty fast.

Why do you want him yo fight Briggs? Briggs is an old man who should have stayed retired. He would get beat down and that on old men isn't fair
Nitro,

Asdfjkl isn't the smartest knife inn the drawer.

Although Tyson was about 180lbs when he came out of prison.
Yes, but at 5'10" that's still pretty heavy.

It is probably physically possible for him to get down to 200, though not realistic in terms of getting in shape for a contest. This was two years ago. To give you an idea on what he walks around at, I am 220lbs or a little more in these pictures.

Fair enough. Me and my mate still talk about it though, that maybe Haye had steps in his shoes or something because we heard so many stories about him exaggerating his size and looking small at weigh ins and stuff, and then we met him and he looked every bit of 6'3" and quite a lump with it. Nothing quite prepares you for meeting proper super heavyweight guys, though. The Furys and the Joshua's and the Klitschko's. They are almost like a different species blokes like that.

I bumped into John Barnes outside of Old Trafford after Benn Eubank II and HE looked massive.

The black and white striped blazer he was wearing didn't do him any favours either

Haye works hard to keep the weight on and stay 200lbs +

He's a great athlete and like others have said I believe he could still do cruiser today ( but it would be pretty pointless as he is looking for big money fights and heavy pays more )

If you look back at his amateur careers he was still doing 81kg when he was 18/19 years old! Then he moved up to 91kg for the rest of his amateur career! (Another 3 years)

When he turned pro he fought his first few years at 190lb limit, then the limit went up to 201 in 2004 (?). By 2008 he said he was no longer comfortable doing 201 and moved to heavy!

In my opinion if he didn't lift so much there is no way that someone who could do 81kg at 18, 190lbs at 23 couldn't stay at 201 for the rest of his careers!

Regarding Tyson , he was super small when he came out of prison ! I think Eubank has a pic with him in his autobiography from a prison visit and Eubank looks bigger thank him !!

I reckon it was probably stress with Tyson, he said in an interview once, that he lived in fear almost every day in prison, because everyone wanted to make a name for themselves, and he was the ultimate way to do so, might well be the reason he converted to Islam, those brothers take no shite in American jails, and people leave them well alone.

I totally agree with Haye; I was 12 stone 7 and was a rake when I was 16, I'm only 14 stone when I'm in shape now, Haye would get back down to 190 if he needed to.

Not to nitpick, the cruiser limit is 200, not 201. Well, ok, I am nitpicking. 201 is heavyweight

Surely being Vascular indicates relatively low body fat? Your superficial veins are beneath the adipose layer of your tissues, aren't they? Rhino should know this, but I'm sure I remember from biology that's where they were.

I am vascular as fook right now and I am 12kg over contest shape. Which considering I am 69kg in shape, that is a LOT

I think the vascularity is also determined by hormonal levels, the body can produce additional blood vessels and thicken the ones that exist to carry more blood to the muscles with increased exercise, however, if you carrying a lot of body fat, it would show. I think this is why certain natural and artificial hormones are not recommended for people with cancers, as they promote the creation of additional blood vessels which feed tumours and cause them to grow rapidly.
