Post by NYDominican »

A prime Tony Zale against a prime Jake LaMotta.

What advantages does Tony have over Jake?

What advantages does LaMotta have over Zale?

What do you see happening in this fight?

Who would win?

Why?

Please explain.

Zale was more suited to Middleweight division then La Motta poor Jake was a Super Middleweight about 30/40 year's too early he punished his body etc etc etc just to get to the Middleweight limit its amazing that he [Jake] could fight 10/12/15 round's at a fast pace and throw punch's all night like a machine he must have had an unbelievable motor he was Middleweight world Champion................................................................At that weight [middle] Jake had 27 fight's at 18-7-2-above middle he had 79 fight's at 65-12-2- in World Title fight's Jake went 3-1-2ko's Zale at Middleweight went 42-15-1 above middle he went 25-3-1 he was robbed of 4 prime year's during world war 2 so its possible we missed the absolute prime fighting day's of Zale he went 6-2-5ko's in World Middleweight Title fight's after the war he went 16-3-16 ko's he was certainly the better puncher even though Jake was the naturally bigger fighter it would be a gruelling affair they both had good chins even though they have been both stopped 4/5 times apiece during their career's I would say Jake as got the slightly better chin I see both men tearing into each other for the full 15 round's they would have the crowd in a frenzy for much of the fight neither would be willing to give an inch this would be the undoing of Zale.........La Motta would slowly but surely start to wear down Zale by round 11/12 and the last 3 round's Zale would go after La Motta looking for the KO knowing that he's slightly behind on the card's but La Motta stands his ground and slugs it out with the desperate Zale until the final bell to earn a hard fought un dec in fight of the decade :TU:
