Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
With the rumours of boozing and scrapping on the streets as well as one fight against a non entity since his loss to Brook it's hardly ideal preparation for Frankie Gavin. That with the fact he has shown absolutely no potential despite a great amateur career I'd never put a penny on Frankie Gavin.

Bang it on the stoppage for Gavin mate, trust me, Frankie can stop Sam IMO, catch him too clean, too oftenbeano wrote:I hope so I've got a few quid here to bang on Gavin and the odds are shortening on him

They're not even rumours, he was convicted, hence the lay off.jameswilson wrote:With the rumours of boozing and scrapping on the streets as well as one fight against a non entity since his loss to Brook it's hardly ideal preparation for Frankie Gavin. Gavin can't even make welterweight. Overhyped and never impressed me as a pro. I've gone for Sam to stop him late. Wonder what weight Frankie bothers to come in at.
Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
Sam is still coming in at 10.7 as he wants to win the title more than worry about a few pounds

Is the switch in odds you're expecting because of Frankie's weight struggle?
Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
Yeh to be fair its not the best scenario is it.Hes not coming in on weight anymore after failing two check weigh ins.Sam was offered the option to put weight on but he just laughed it off saying hes a professional and wants to win the title.
We were also told Sam was within his rights to pull out but thats not going to happen so we just got to get on with it now.Not ideal but we are not letting the others sides shenagans put us off.

Does Sam rehydrate well Jon, or is Gavin just going to be the heavier man in there come fight night particularly if he has not made the weight in the first place. I know you are confident in your man and I think he can win this fight by stoppage to be honest by just breaking Frankie's heart but do you think Sam has improved since Skeete or will he slip make into the mistakes that cost him that fight?

Thought Frankie looked a bit fleshy around the breadbasket personally although he is never the most cut fighter I guess.

It's shameful to see - the clue is in the name 'professional'... which he clearly isn't. What a waste of talent.GlobalBox wrote:No good at posting photo but link to the picture below, boxingknockout wrote:Any photo?GlobalBox wrote:Thought Frankie looked a bit fleshy around the breadbasket personally although he is never the most cut fighter I guess.

Have you heard any rumours of why Gavin is not making weight mate? Just a lack of professionalism? Anything else?jonp wrote:Yeh to be fair its not the best scenario is it.Hes not coming in on weight anymore after failing two check weigh ins.Sam was offered the option to put weight on but he just laughed it off saying hes a professional and wants to win the title.

Where's Toby when we need him. He's the resident bodybuilding/nutrition expert.GlobalBox wrote:Thought Frankie looked a bit fleshy around the breadbasket personally although he is never the most cut fighter I guess.
Can some people just not get ripped or is it the majority of the time due to dietary decisions, etc?

He is unprofessional, but doesn't look fat.his arms look fairly muscled.Deserter wrote:It's shameful to see - the clue is in the name 'professional'... which he clearly isn't. What a waste of talent.GlobalBox wrote:No good at posting photo but link to the picture below, boxingknockout wrote:

Most interesting Price from bet perspective might be paddy power 9-1 gavin stoppage
Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
It's all relative. Judged as a man on the street he's not fat, judged as a professional fighter in a title bout he clearly hasn't prepared properly.boxingknockout wrote:He is unprofessional, but doesn't look fat.his arms look fairly muscled.Deserter wrote:It's shameful to see - the clue is in the name 'professional'... which he clearly isn't. Understood. What do you think on the betting side, given all the factors!Deserter wrote:It's all relative. Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
It's a good question - I don't feel I've seen enough of Eggington to give a truly informed opinion, but if I was pushed I'd say Gavin on points. I don't want him to win given his attitude, but skill-wise he's still a different level and I can see it being a fairly wide, comprehensive win.boxingknockout wrote:Understood. Hes learnt his lesson hugely from skeete the biggest thing i found was that he straight away turned round and blamed nobody just met me and said iv got to big for my boots and walked round thinking im the big deal i promise it will never happen again, that impressed me a 22 year old manning up and saying its my fault i got too cocky lets fix it.GlobalBox wrote:jonp wrote:Yeh to be fair its not the best scenario is it.Hes not coming in on weight anymore after failing two check weigh ins.Sam was offered the option to put weight on but he just laughed it off saying hes a professional and wants to win the title.

Sam has worked on it and hes still a huge work in progress and people will ssee the next stage of his development tomorrow night.
On rehydration he usualy goes up to about 11.5 but he doesnt go bigger because he does the weight so well, people dont beleive it but he doesnt do a hot bath or a session in the morning he wakes up at 10.6 and a half has a cup of tea and just does his ticket money wile most lads are skipping of the last pound.
On the point of the bigger man Sam is the bigger man that cant be changed but i really hope frankie trys to be the heavier man because that just means hes slower and we get to him quicker.

Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
Guy in the article definitely had a point. Beer belly cant win fights regardless of his technical acumen. Eggington to win was a smart play.
