Eddie Hearn: "I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017."
Hearn: I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017
http://www.BS.com/hearn-i-100- ... 17--109982?
David Haye is the latest name to be linked with an Anthony Joshua super-fight after negotiations with Wladimir Klitschko reportedly broke down.
“Haye is in line for some kind of WBA strap and he wants to fight for that,” Hearn said.
“He’s also, I believe, done a deal with allegedly, so that’s why that fight ain’t gonna happen for December 10.
“I 100% want that fight to happen next year but Haye is waiting, like we all are, so who knows?”

I genuinely believe Hearn pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad so being fair I've no reason to think he wouldn't want AJ v Haye.he stands to make a packet whatever name is made! If the money is right he's willing to risk AJ and that isn't a bad thing in my opinion.

I hope he does have that confidence in him, but Wlad and Haye are very different prospects.Stuarty30 wrote:I genuinely believe Hearn pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad so being fair I've no reason to think he wouldn't want AJ v Haye.he stands to make a packet whatever name is made! Though I think Joshua is good enough to beat both now.

I think Hearn pulled pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad too. The mistake Hearn appears to have made though, is he should probaly have got the WBA involved earlier. It appears his strategy was to get so much momentum going for the fight that the WBA would just roll over and sanction it. So far it doesn't appear to have worked.Stuarty30 wrote:I genuinely believe Hearn pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad so being fair I've no reason to think he wouldn't want AJ v Haye.he stands to make a packet whatever name is made! In the scramble for all the belts vacated by Fury, everyone wants to get the easier fight for the vacant title.
You have your New Zealander doing it, you have Wladimir doing it.
Appears Hearn wanted to make the massive fight for Joshua with Wlad. Haye will suffice for a huge domestic battle.
But, after this talk will Haye go out, do some thing, raise his profile? Or will he sit on his apparent opportunity, do nothing to jeopardise it?

Bad thing is that Hearn is willing to risk only for huge money. I'm not saying Pulev is the next coming of Lennox Lewis or Riddick Bowe, but he is solid, good fighter. Joshua needs fight like that before fighting Wlad and Tyson Fury (if he comes back as good as he was), because step up from Whyte and Breazaele to Klistchko or Fury might be too big for him. But I'm 100% confident, that if Hearn can't make Joshua - Klitschko for December 10, AJ will face David Price or Eric Molina insted of solid opponent like Pulev. Even Hughie Fury would be much better opponent than Price in my opinion.Stuarty30 wrote:I genuinely believe Hearn pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad so being fair I've no reason to think he wouldn't want AJ v Haye.he stands to make a packet whatever name is made! In any fight you need all parties involved to be pulling the same way. The WBA thing is just an excuse because Wlad doesn't fancy it I reckon. He's taking the easy option.Like a Boss wrote:I think Hearn pulled pulled all the stops to make AJ v Wlad too. Completely agree. If the WBA title was the main issue in making the fight, why was it raised so late?Stuarty30 wrote:In any fight you need all parties involved to be pulling the same way. Have a massive dislike for Wlad, thought he might redeem himself by taking on Joshua but no. Another easy fight in Germany. Hope he gets splattered and retires.

People are still ignoring that Hearn himself said he would not make the fight v Wlad if the other belts weren't on the line.
And now he is saying Wlad is ducking it for the same reason.
Re: Eddie Hearn: "I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017."
Hearn gets a lot of flack on here and rightly so but I firmly believe Wlad and his team are the obstacle here. Wlad doesn't fancy it and is looking for excuses to justify backing out. That's the way it looks to me anyway.Naandrew wrote:Webbo911 wrote:Completely agree. If the WBA title was the main issue in making the fight, why was it raised so late?Stuarty30 wrote:

Even Tyson Fury did that, stayed away from Pulev eliminator...before finally facing Wlad.Boxing Writer wrote:Bad thing is that Hearn is willing to risk only for huge money. He was bridging Chisora and Steve Cunningham level before going for the top.

I never believed wlad aj would be made at 8 weeks notice these fights take years to make and build.
Re: Eddie Hearn: "I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017."
Fury might have finally beaten Wlad when he got there but he swerved all sorts of people, Pulev, Price, Ustinov, before he did and never really fought anybody he wasn't favorite to win against. Nobody thought Fury was going to beat Wladamir because he'd never really beaten anybody (he said it himself in an interview). Fury fans who coat off AJ want to have a word with themselves.Autobarn wrote: Even Tyson Fury did that, stayed away from Pulev eliminator...before finally facing Wlad.

Anyway, it seems like Pulev don't want any of AJ rather than the other way around, which is stupid. The time to fight Joshua is now.

He turned down Pulev because he got the Haye fight for loads of moneyclopixolacuphase wrote:Fury might have finally beaten Wlad when he got there but he swerved all sorts of people, Pulev, Price, Ustinov, before he did and never really fought anybody he wasn't favorite to win against. Common sense.
Obviously if he could tell the future he would not have done that.

Why wouldn't wlad fancy it ?
He has ducked no one in the past and AJ is still unproven. Wlad could not fight for 4-5 years come back and beat Breazeale and Dillian Whyte without any issues.
He would also get another massive payday.
I just think Hearn is full of sh*t with this whole situation.
Re: Eddie Hearn: "I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017."
I thought haye had openly said he wants the fight on December 10th. Why wouldn't he? It's huge money, he's already training for that date, he's got a good chance of winning, it's a world title shot he hasn't earned.crusader wrote:Talk talk talk talk talk
Seems strange that Hearn wouldn't just say he wants to save Haye for a stadium fight or something instead of talking bollocks.
Re: Eddie Hearn: "I 100% Want Anthony Joshua vs. David Haye in 2017."
nah I'm pretty convinced it's wlad picking a different route, if he wanted the fight he would be posting videos on facebook saying Hearn was mucking him around like he usually does.Naandrew wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:Hearn gets a lot of flack on here and rightly so but I firmly believe Wlad and his team are the obstacle here. Hearn wans Joshua v Haye in 2017?
Has he asked David Haye?
David might be a bit busy in 2017.

Why isn't the fight happening then? The Klits are notoriously tough negotiators. We can only go on what we see and as far as I can see its Wlad who is the stumbling block here. Yeah he's faced all the top guys in the past but on his own terms and at his age and current form it looks to me as if he's intentionally blocking the fight.Naandrew wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:Hearn gets a lot of flack on here and rightly so but I firmly believe Wlad and his team are the obstacle here. AJ is unproven and fighting Klitschko is a massive gamble but he's dangerous and Wlad knows that. He's been singing his praises for long enough.
