Tim Bradley Jr. about to call it quits?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Few questions about the 33 year old.

Image

Has a good enough resume to retire?

Does he want to call it a day because he's made enough money from the Pac trilogy?

Can you see him in any other career money fights?

Where do you rank him as a welterweight?

Has he boxed to his full potential?

Yes, he should think about it in the last few fights. He is what he is and he's done it to the best of his ability. I always thought he would be the man in charge at welter after Mayweather and Pacquiao retired but they both stuck around too long so he's kind of overshadowed by him but by this point, there's no where to go but down.

I think he's still got some left... but he took some good punishment. It feels (to me) like a short career, but it was a good one.

I'd still pick Bradley to beat any welterweight in the world par Mayweather and Pacquiao, with the possible exception of Spence but that's only because we don't know where his ceiling is yet.

He should definitely think about it in a fight or two. He has to have made a ton of money, and seems smart enough to have not blown it all. He's had some very tough fights, hopefully his brains don't get scrambled.

Other than provodnikov i dont think bradley has taken too much damage. Everyone makes a big deal out of pacquiao knocking him down but he wasnt glossy eyes or anything and it didnt affect his legs--even did a backwards summersault roll with the punch, how badly could he have been hurt? More of a balance issue than sheer damage.

I agree he beats anyone except pacquiao and possibly spence. He's still very elusive with good cardio and skill.

Has a good enough resume to retire?

Yes but his brain isnt scrambled, his body isnt a wreck and there are plenty of big winnable fights available so why not go for glory?

Does he want to call it a day because he's made enough money from the Pac trilogy?

No idea. Wouldnt blame him at all. Hes done well for himself and doesnt have a bunch of taxes or prison/baby mama drama so good for him.

Can you see him in any other career money fights?

Hes expressed interest in porter and the porters also would like to fight him. Excitin fight for the fans.

Thurman bragged he could knock him out. Id kive to see him attempt it.

Khan and bradley used to take jabs at each other. It would sell.

Where do you rank him as a welterweight?

Currently i have him only after pacquiao and possibly thurman. I have to review their records again.

Has he boxed to his full potential?

Not sure. Hes done a lot under diaz but we'll see how for atlas can take him.

I love watching Tim fight, but I wouldn't mind seeing him retire in a fight or two. He's definitely had some brain rattling moments in his career. Like the end of the Jessie Vargas fight and he fought with a serious concussion pretty much the entire Ruslan Provodnikov fight. It's always best to retire before all that kinda stuff starts piling up on you. I think Tim still has a fight or two in him though. I don't see any reason for him to fight anybody that's not at the very least a tough contender that people would like to see him fight. Tim vs just about Any Top 10 Welterweight intrigues me. Spence, Thurman, Garcia, Felix Diaz

Him against Cotto would be another big money maker. Hell I'm not sure Tim wouldn't make a good opponent for Canelo at 154 to be honest. Tim could give Canelo a hard night's work for sure.

A fight between Tim and Amir Khan would be intriguing too. Lots of possibilities out there for him.

Notoriously tough to make a success of restaurants but all the best to them.

I figure his best chance to win a World Title in the current landscape would be from Danny Garcia. Wouldn't shock me if he beat Keith Thurman either. I think Bradley is a slightly better version of Shawn Porter, and the Thurman vs Porter fight was pretty awesome.

No. He is still at prime and his fights are fun to watch. True champ, Can fight with top of the welterweight division, give fans at least 3 big fights and make a lot of money :) Maybe he can go to Hall of fame if he Beat Thurman, Garcia, Porter, Spence or Brook (at least one of them)

He's had a good career and made a lot of money. He's probably over achieved IMO. That's not to say he hasn't anything left because i think he's still got some good fights left in him! I wouldn't mind seeing him and Brook at 154 or a catch weight personally.

I like Tim a lot. He earned his way up and deserves a lot more respect than he often gets. He is getting close to a good time to call it quits, and going out on a win would be a nice way to end a nice career.

He should fight Vargas in a rematch, unless Jessie gets obliterated by Manny.
If not, then why not fight another one with Chaves or have a rematch with Provodnikov as a farewell fight?

If he can get out of the tedious Top Rank circle jerk then there are plenty of very good fights that he can have.

Agree.
I thought he looked excellent in his last two fights.

I guess Shawn Porter is his only real option.

i basically agree, but that one by itself
was terrible terrible. very much hope
tim is totally fine in the long run, cause
his courage against ruslan was unheard
of. he fought back wildly while being
gazed. never seen anything like this.
bradley has the heart of a whale.

great fighter, made the best of his
career. he had everything but power.

he seems like a nice and decent guy,
showed great fights and should ride
on. i for one don't like it when they
hang in for too long,

(at this point i checked his record.)

oh, he is just 33, i thought he was
three or four years older. hm, that
changes things somewhat. anyways,
i think his best fights are behind him.

I liked their banter.. would be 4 years in the making.

Bradley avoided Khan because he was pursuing a big fight with Pacman.

Tbh, Bradley's career would have been a tad different had he not got the decision in the Pac 1st fight. There would never have been a trilogy. He wouldn't have made an extra $10m in the sequels

I think Bradley's career has been similar, not the same, mind, but similar to Australia's Daniel Geale's. Both had the ability to reach the top and had careers that we'd all be jelous of but both were bettered by all time greats. Bradley still, imho, has a career ahead of him, he still has a chance to win a version of the title, he'll never get around the fact that Pac, an all time great, beat him, realistacly, every time they met but Pac is an all time great. Id like to see Bradley fight on and challenge the up-and comers in his division, if he can't win a strap again then, at least, he should earn some scent purses.

He had a good career. I hope you will do at least one more fight. I've always wanted to see a fight with Berto because it is on defeating as an amateur.
